Chapter 23| You're Brothers?

"What are you saying officer? That Ashton ran over me?"

"That's not what I'm saying. But it's a possibility that he could be a suspect. Along with uh, Louis Tomlinson, do you know him?"

"Louis?" He asked shocked. "He's my best friend. He wouldn't do something like that to me."

"We're sorry Mr. Malik but we have to take account anyone you know and cross-reference to whether they were there during the incident or not."

Zayn stared at the officer before he slowly sat up.

"Well...who else are you considering?"

"Your father is a suspect as well. Given his history, I hope you can understand why."

He gave a small nod.

"And your mother as well."

He stared at him. "My mom? Why is she included in this?"

"Given that her children were taken away from her three years ago because of abuse and neglect, yes."

He shook his head. "No, she-she wouldn't do that."

"I'm sorry Mr. Malik but we have to take it under consideration." The officer paused for a second before responding with, "You didn't know this?"

"No," he said shocked. "My father was usually like that. I didn't think that my mom..."

"Does Zayn know I'm in the hospital to get treated?"

Louis looked up at him curiously. "I'm helping you put your pants on and you ask me that?"

Liam shook his hand. "I can do it now."

Louis stepped away and looked to the side as Liam pulled the remainder of them up then buttoned and zipped them up. Louis looked back to him when Liam said he was good.

"No, Zayn doesn't know that you're here." He informed him.

Liam nodded lightly before he stumbled back over to the chair. Louis quickly caught him before he sat him down. He sat down next to him before he fixed his tie.

"Thanks for contacting the police," he said. "Right call."

Louis shook his head lightly. "I know you, you would've killed him."

Liam smirked. "You do know that I can be noble when it comes to settling things when it is needed."

Louis stared at him. "But when it comes to someone you love, you would do anything. Remember?"

Liam gave a small nod. He directed his gaze to him with sad eyes.

"Yea," he said softly. He sighed, "I know. That won't happen ever again."

Louis gave a small nod right back towards him. He wished that he would agree to his words but knowing what he was feeling he wasn't all too sure about that.

He wouldn't be able to know if they would go through with what they went through in the past. They might soon find out since he did tell Zayn what he felt for him.

It wasn't until the doctor walked back into the room. Their eyes darted up to look at him.

"You're good to go," he said. "I just need either one of you two to come to sign a few papers."
