Chapter 28| Ashton's Back

After a lot of talking, Louis stared at the duo across from him. He didn't know how to react to them saying all this. It hurt him. It physically hurts him.

He loves Zayn. He wouldn't be able to get over him that easily. When things ended with Luke he was messed up for months on end. Then Liam brought him up.

His eyes were on Zayn and Zayn alone. The supportive smile he gave here and there did give him the slightest bit of hope. But knowing that it wasn't going to be with him only made it worse.

He knew that Zayn wouldn't think more of him than a crush. He just didn't think he would be able to turn his feelings for him away. That would be trying to do the impossible.

He then turned his head and looked at his brother. He had listened to him. He wanted him to be happy and seeing him with Zayn did just that. Perhaps it would be wise to back off.

But that's also the impossible.

"Look, it's better if we do this instead of getting the police involved."

Louis nodded lightly. "You're my brother. I want you to be happy and being with Zayn has clearly made you happy ever since you came back."

Zayn glanced a look to Liam but Louis had to remark.

"But I love him too. I don't think I can get over him."

Zayn looked back to Louis with a soft look. Louis continued to stare at him, jealousy etched into his features. Liam glanced to the floor.

"We understand that. But eventually, you'll be able to move on."

Louis nodded lightly. "I need some time to myself."

"Okay," Liam said softly.

He turned to his side and walked towards the door. Zayn followed soon after. They walked out of the house silently before it was Liam who lightly gripped his boyfriend's hand.

Zayn looked back at him curiously. "What is it?"

Liam lightly placed a small kiss against his forehead only for a blushing Zayn to look down to hide his blush. He then brought his hand up and gently caressed his jawline with his thumb.

"He'll get over this. It'll take a while."

He nodded lightly. "I know. Let's just go home."

"Oh, about that," Liam said. "What do you say we get our own place? Seeing as though our relationship is continuing to progress, I assume we would want some privacy."

For a second, Zayn blushed lightly. He then remembered about what happened earlier. He nodded his head lightly silently agreeing.

"Yeah, you're right," he said. "That would probably be for the best."

"How about we look into some houses, let's go and get a newspaper and see some houses that are on the market."

Zayn nodded lightly, "Sounds like a good idea."

"How about this one: thirteen rooms, two bedrooms and main bedroom, two bathrooms, and the price is £388,425."

"Well, what about the other one?"

"That one has fewer rooms and the price is higher, no deal."

Liam looked to Zayn with a soft gaze. He watched as he saw him look over the newspaper, the way how he looked when he was thinking was so focused.
