Chapter 24| I'm in Love with Both of You

"You two do seem very alike. You're both very protective."

Louis looked at him curiously. "You're not mad? That I just accidentally told you this?"

He shrugged lightly. "Let's just say that I kind of already knew. Whenever I'm with you we run into Liam and vice versa."

Louis gave a nervous smile as Zayn returned it. It wasn't until Zayn realized what has happened now. He has a crush on Louis, Liam's brother.

"Oh god," he grumbled and pressed a hand to his eyes. His head flopped back onto his pillow as Louis watched him for a moment.

"What–?"

"I have a crush on my boyfriend's brother," he grumbled once again. "I'm a terrible boyfriend."

"No, you're not," he said. He stood up and took Zayn's free hand off his face. He gently gripped his hand as he stared down at Zayn. "You're human. You can't control your feelings."

Zayn smiled softly at him. "Tell me something then, should I go to Liam and tell him I know you're related or wait for him to come to me?"

"Honestly, since you already know, it's best to tell him. He wouldn't like that he told you and you said that you knew for a while. That'll upset him."

He nodded lightly. "All right."

He glanced over towards the clock and gave a small nod.

"Well, it's gonna be nighttime soon. It'd be best if you go and get some sleep as well."

"No, I'll be fine. I told him that I would watch over you."

"I'll be fine–,"

"You're asking me to break my word, I never break my word with just anyone, especially Liam."

Zayn took a moment to take in his words before he nodded.

"All right."

Louis watched silently as the Doctor finished wrapping the plaster around Zayn's arm. It wasn't until the Dr. Einberg moved over to examine his elbow.

"Well, I believe we are good to move you into the OR soon. I'll be back in a few minutes then we can proceed. All right?"

Zayn gave a small nod. The doctor left and Louis gave a small smile.

"Okay, good luck," Louis said softly.

Zayn smiled. "Luck's for losers."

Louis chuckled. "Right. Um...break a leg?"

Zayn chuckled from his comment as Louis placed a comforting hand on his shoulder. Zayn watched him for a moment, the hand did much more than comfort.

He didn't know whether or not to actually tell him. Though after the few months that he's known him he can't help but think that he may have more than just a crush on him.

"Louis–?"

Just then the door opened. Liam walked in quickly with his crutch. He came to the side of the bed and smiled at him. Zayn saw him, his confidence in telling Louis something faded.

He would have to tell him later. He just didn't know how.

Liam lightly pecked his lips. When he pulled back Zayn only felt woe as Louis glanced away.
