It was the first day of taping. The location is at Binondo, Manila. Alex, Sue, Matt and JC didn’t really have a part yet since they were shooting the first part of the story where they were supposed to be kids still. The director just asked them to be present to get a feel of the story. There were two tents set up for the cast. One was for the veteran actors and the other tent for the younger generation. The four of them were in their tents. Alex, however, was sitting at the far end of the tent, studying the script while the other three were chatting and joking around. Sue noticed this at the corner of her eye. She stood up and approached Alex.
“Uy! Bakit ka nagsosolo dyan?” Sue asked Alex.
“Huh?! Oh, I’m just trying to review the script. This is my first big role so I am a bit nervous,” Alex admitted to Sue.
“Ano ka ba? Wala pa naman tayong parts noh. Next week pa ung sa tin. OA ka naman. Pinapunta tayo dito this week para makapagbonding bago ung scheduled taping natin.”
“I know. I just want to go over it again and maybe I’ll go out later and check out the veteran actors. Maybe I can learn from them.”
“Ay ewan ko say o. Para ka naman others nyan eh. Kaw bahala.” Sue returned to the table where she, Matt and JC sat and continued to joke around with them.
Is she mad at me? He thought while stealing a glance in Sue’s direction. Did I do something wrong? I wonder what ticked her off. Alex was too nervous to even analyze why he cares if he ticked her off. He kept reading the script and when he was finished, he went out to observe the veteran actors and see if he can learn some acting tips from them.
Matt was watching Sue the whole time she was conversing with Alex. JC noticed this and he asked Matt, “Pare type mo ba si Sue? Di ba may girlfriend ka na?”
“Hindi noh. Pinapabantayan lang sa kin ni Marga. Alam mo naman ung dalawang yan mag-bff kaya binilin sa kin,” Matt said in defense.
“Bakit? Masamang tao ba yang si Alex?”
“Hindi noh. Ikaw para sa lalaki chismoso ka. Inoobserbahan ko lang si Sue.”
“Oh okay.”
“Ikaw pare may napapansin ka bang kakaiba kay Sue?”
“Wala naman. Nakikita ko lang na parang iba sya. Masaya na sya ngayon.”
“Yan din napansin namin pero syempre nakabantay pa rin kaming lahat para di na sya masaktan or malungkot ulit.”
“Oo naman. Ganyan ang mga kaibigan di ba? Eh itong si Alex, kilala mo ba?”
“Ha? Oo. Nakakasama ko na sya sa mga workshops tapos sabay din kami minsan sa gym. Sumama din sya sa group namin sa Boracay. Mabait yan.”
“Tahimik kasi. Parang ilag sa tin.”
“Mahiyain. Di pa masyadong sanay sa showbiz.”
