“Ano maganda, ung pula or ung pink? Alin mas gusto mo?” Sue asked Jeremy.

“Whichever you prefer. You’re the one who’ll be wearing it,” Jeremy said with a sigh.

“Hindi nga ako makadecide. Ikaw naman nakakaalam kung ano mas bagay kaya ikaw na pumili,” she insisted.

“Di ba favorite color mo ung pink? So just wear the pink!” he said in frustration. “It’s getting late so we better go.”

“Ok, ung pink na lang. Teka magbihis na ko para makaalis na tayo,” Sue said while looking at Jeremy strangely. Bakit ba ang sungit nito? Nagtatanong lang naman eh. She hurried to her room and started changing. Good thing she already did her make-up so all she needed to do was change.

“Sue! Let’s go!” Jeremy yelled.

“I’m coming down!” Sue yelled back.

She met him at the bottom of the stairs, grabbed her keys and then they hurriedly left. They were going to have dinner together, like they always do. Jeremy had set this date up and Sue is really excited. They haven’t really gone out in a while, what with their busy schedules and everything else they had to do. They finally reached the place. It was a secluded restaurant in Makati where Jeremy made reservations. The waiter escorted them to their table at the patio. It was the only table there, which made Sue feel giddy and excited. Jeremy helped her sit down and then went around to sit at his place.

“Salamat naman at nakapag-date na ulit tayo. Matagal tagal na din kasi tayo di nakakalabas ng ganito. Thank you pala ha sa paghahanda mo dito,” Sue said, looking directly into Jeremy’s eyes, smiling.

“Ok lang. We need this anyways so we can talk,” Jeremy answered seriously, with a hint of sadness in his voice.

“Bakit babe? May problema ba tayo?” Sue asked nervously. She can feel that something’s wrong. Jeremy has been acting odd lately. He has been cold and distant. He barely texts her or calls her. Every time she would ask him something he seems to be irritated. She was scared of his tone, the way he can’t look her in the eyes and the way he was fidgeting in his seat.

Just then, the waiter came back to their table and asked for their drinks.

“I’ll have iced tea,” Jeremy told the waiter.

“I’ll have the same,” Sue said.

The waiter wrote it down on his pad and said, “I’ll be getting your drinks and will be back to take your order.”

Jeremy was silent after the waiter left. Sue became even more nervous. May nagawa ba ko? Bakit ba parang hindi sya mapakali? At seryosong seryoso ang mukha nya. Ni ayaw nya ko tingnan. Ano ba ang problema? Kinakabahan na talaga ko, Sue thought.

The waiter arrived with their drinks and asked for their order.
