Chapter 10

I tried as hard as I could to break free from those heavy hands on me.

Out of nowhere, he let me free and just when I was about to turn and kill his entire self, I come to meet Nathan dying of laughter.

"What the heck!! Your scared me to death!!! I swear...."

I placed my hand on my forehead, I really had gotten worried and terrified especially for what could happen to my life in the next 30 seconds.

Nathan was about to speak but I quickly interrupted him.

"Don't you even dare speak to me!! I'm really mad at you right now." I turned my back on him and I felt his hands on my shoulders.

"I'm sorry....don't be mad at me." He whispered slowly in my hear, bringing an unexplainable pleasure in me making me also close my eyes at the sound of his words.

I don't know how long we stayed in this position but I was beginning to process everything and realize where we were.

I quickly jerked away, turning to him.

"Please don't be mad! I was just playing with you." he said, giving me that smile once more.

I rolled my eyes and nodded, telling him he was forgiven.

"Yay! Let's hug it out to bring an end to all of this."

Next thing I knew his arms were wrapped around me. I felt a bit awkward....realizing I was hugging my best friends crush....

I ended the hug after a few minutes feeling a bit bad but I just felt bad. Knowing my best friend is in love with him and I'm just here hugging him. Like.....no.

"So are we going to work on this project today?" He asked standing next to my car.

"Yeah, but you see we never really agreed on where we were going to meet so idk what we were going to do...so actually I have to thank you for almost giving me a heart attack but then again I'm still mad at you but then again idk what I'm saying so I'll shut up now"

Nathan just shook his head while I just smiled at him. I was never open like this to someone, only to Clarissa but never with someone else....especially a guy.

"So where do we go?" He asked bringing me out of my thoughts.

I began thinking where we could go....not my house because my room was dirty again!, I really didn't want to go to his house either.....

And that's when it clicked in my head. That pretty place I took many pictures of when I took him home.

"Let's go to that beautiful place we went last time! By your house!"

"You really want to go there?" He asked chucking.

"Yes! let's go come on!"

We both got in my car and drove off to that place. Never have I been so excited about going somewhere, all I knew was that i was super excited to go to this place....and most of all to be with his company.

What did I just say?!

When we arrived we sat down on a picnic table and began our work.

Throughout the whole afternoon we were laughing and talking...rarely working.

Every time I tried to concentrate back on our work, Nathan made me think of something else. We went from talking like normal people to tickling each other.

"Oh my gosh!!! stop it!!" Nathan continued tickling me.

"This is what you get...for tickling me..." He placed a final touch and finally left me alone.

I wiped my tears of so much laughter and sighed. I looked at him who was looking at me as well.

"Okay we seriously have to get work done" I began fixing our crumbled papers and began working like normal people.

In less than we thought we finished our rough draft. Since we were both starving we decided to meet up another day and finish and for the remaining of the day go ear somewhere.

We came upon a hamburger place and each ordered our food. We sat down and began gobbling down food into our hungry selves.

"Your cool" stated Nathan, making me look up to him.

"You are too" I smiled and so did he.

After we finished eating, I went and dropped Nathan off and made my way back home. Before he left we had exchanged phone numbers just in case we had questions or suggestions for our projects.

I locked my car and opened my front door. I saw my mom sitting in the couch watching tv.

"Where in the world have you been?" she said, not taking her eyes off the tv.

"I was with a friend working on a project" I began walking but my moms questioning made me stop.

"Is he a guy?" she asked

"Yeah"

"Is he your boyfriend"

"No mom"

"You like him"

"No mom"

"You sure?"

"Yes mom"

"Okay"

"K"

I rolled my eyes as I made my way upstairs. I change into my pjs and laid in my bed.

Memories of today brought a smile in my face.

Laughing and talking so happily and cheerfully. Not even with Clarissa did I have so much fun. Oh gosh.

I heard my phone ring and I picked it up. I recognized the number as Nathan's.

"Hello?" I answered.

"Congratulations you've just won 1,000 dollars!"

"Very funny" I cried sarcastically, smiling at his comment.

"I'm just kidding. I was just checking if this was you....didn't want to call some old lady and ask her about our project."

I let out a laugh. "Don't worry it's me. Unless you consider me an old lady?"

"Mmmmm well now that you say that..."

"Nathan!"

"I'm just kidding!"

"You better!"

"Or what?"

"I'll tickle you like you did today again"

"Please! you were the one being killed by my tickles"

"Whatever. Shut up"

He let out a laugh, and it just made me smile. A silence roamed through our conversation.

"Well I gotta go...see you tomorrow" he said, breaking the silence.

"Bye" I said.

I ended the call and sat up. I began thinking about everything that's been happening and how I've rarely done my job of bringing Nathan closer to Clarissa.

It was much harder than I thought...I could rarely keep a conversation about her between us. He always changed it.

What ran through my mind was him, why did I think about him so much? Why did I enjoy when I was with him?

I covered my face with my hands trying to think every possible reason that could be the answer I was looking for.
