I moaned frustrated more than ever knowing it was time. I looked up as I turned my alarm off.
6:00 am.
It was the first day of school. First day of my senior year. Many tend to find it very exciting. Then we have our over emotional people who don't even need an alarm because of how excited they are.
Let me begin by saying my respect for you people, because I still need an alarm for almost everything. Including whenever my mother tells me to turn off the pot of beans 10 minutes after letting them cook.
I rose from bed and jumped into the shower. The warm water splashing into my body definitely helped in waking me up.
When finished, I turned off the faucet and wrapped myself in a towel. I skimmed through my closet trying to find something comfortable yet still decent enough to not look like a bum.
My eyes then found some nice pinks shorts with along with a dark gray shirt. I straightened my light brown wavy hair and applied some mascara on my caramel colored eyes.
I checked one last time in the mirror, and showed a bright smile of satisfaction.
"No bum!" I cried.
I went downstairs to find my mom making breakfast, she too had early mornings due to her profession as a nurse.
"Hey mom" I greeted, planting a kiss in her forehead.
"Hey honey, want some scrambled eggs?" she questioned.
"Sure" I replied, sitting on one of the chairs in our dark brown wooden table.
My mom turned and placed a plate in front of me. I looked down to my plate and in less than I thought, I gobbled down everything and left my plate clean.
I went back upstairs to brush my teeth and checked myself one last time on the mirror. I cleaned my mouth and scurried back down.
"Bye mom!" I yelled
"Bye sweetie, have a good day!" she replied.
I closed the door, and put in the keys to my Honda Accord. I drove to Carissa's home. We had agreed to arrive together so we could have our own time before school started.
HONK! HONK!
As I waited for her I observed her cute little home. She always wanted a two story house like mine, but it happened that their parents thought a small house was better.
"You're so lucky Carolina!" Her words traveled through my brain on the first day she met my home.
The front door opened revealing my little friend in a precious blue skirt with purple designs, a nice tucked in white shirt that came to her elbows, and some nice white flats.
Her perfect pony tail moved as she opened the door, and sat in the passengers seat.
"Hey!" she giggled.
"Hii. How you been?" I cried as I pulled out of the driveway.
During the whole car ride, Clarissa talked about her trip to Florida. She said the weather was pretty much the same as here in California.
I parked my car and we entered Riverbank High School. I saw many familiar faces and many newbies as well. The halls were packed, we could barely see where we were going.
"Did you get your schedule mailed?" questioned Clarissa, speaking a bit louder so I could hear.
I nodded with my head as I found a small corner where we could relax.
