I found myself in my quiet house, working on my HW in my room. I had some music accompanying me which always was a necessity in my life. I felt a vibration in my phone and realized Lydia was calling me.
''Hey'' I said, putting my phone on speaker as I continued to work.
''Hey...um I wanted to talk to you, but not in front of Clarissa.
Her words brought the immediate topic she was talking about. I sat up straight and didn't say anything, I figured my silence told her I knew what she was talking about.
''Your still thinking about him, right?'' she questioned.
''No'' I stated quickly. Hoping she would go with the flow and end up believing me.
''That's not what you said at lunch'' she responded.
''Nothing happened I mean, I fell and he caught me. I was shocked and stuff, and like I told Clarissa I got dizzy. What in the world were you thinking?''
''Well apparently, that moment of starring which was way more than a minute had nothing to do with any of the things you just named''
I closed my eyes feeling bad once more. I didn't think they would catch any of this, but once again I was wrong.
''Did Clarissa say anything?'' I interrogated.
''She didn't say anything but I figured she was thinking of something. I talked to her on our way out of lunch and brought her calm again, making her think it was all accidental of course''
''I mean yeah it was, its not like I spilled the water on purpose to make all this happen. I mean I would probably do it to make him catch Clarissa, but I certainly wouldn't do what happened at lunch on purpose.''
She giggled at my statement and then we resumed our conversation.
''Well hopefully its all just something..i don't even know any possible reason for your situation, but I'm sure it will all go away.'' she spoke.
"I hope so, because not only is it annoying but I'm starting to feel so bad with Clarissa. She's been my best friend and I've never kept a secret from her. I promise im going to do everything to stop all this and bring Nathan and HER together.''
''Good work my lady'' she said in a funny voice.
We both chuckled and talked for at least an hour or so. After we finished talking on the phone, I put up all my homework and went downstairs to get a bite.
It was close to 7 at night when I heard the front door open and close, letting me know my mother was finally home.
''Hey mom'' I said.
''Hey sweetie, man im tired! It was crazy today, 3 accidents today and many patients.'' she placed two bags on the table and my eyes became illuminated because I immediately knew what it was.
I walked like a zombie towards the table and my mom just laughed because she knew how much I loved Chinese food. We prepared our table and began eating our dinner. We each talked like crazy teenagers, even though one of us wasn't.
''So any cute guys in your school? Im surprised on your senior year you haven't mentioned anything about a guy.'' she questioned out of nowhere.
I shook my head as I finished the food in my mouth. ''No, not really.'' I said, stuffing my food once more.
''Oh wait! What about that guy you work on your constant art projects with?'' she said. ''I've never even met the guy''
''Mom don't you dare think any of that! He's the same guy that I told you that Clarissa likes!''
