Two weeks later, I had somehow retrieved a stomach virus that wouldn't allow me to attend school. It all started with strange feelings in my stomach to horrible pains that would make you feel as if you were being stabbed to death.
Today Friday, was my last day at home. I would return to school on Monday.
I was in my bed reading a book when I saw the door to my bedroom open.
I found my best friend along with Lydia walking towards me.
"Hey guys" I said, closing my book.
"Hey girl, how you been?" questioned Lydia.
"I've been good, I'm getting better each day. I'll be back at school by Monday"
"We've missed you, and so has he." Stated Clarissa.
I turned to her as she said he. I don't know why, but my mind thought about Nathan. These past days he's been on my mind much more often.
"He?" I whispered, barely audible.
"Nathan" she said, sounding a bit sad.
"What's wrong?" asked Lydia, noticing her sadness as well.
"I just don't think anything is gonna happen between him and I, it's just like impossible" she stops for a moment and then looks at me. "Sometimes I think he likes you and you'll end up liking him too"
Her words not only shocked me but Lydia, making Lydia look at her as if she was demented. I quickly spoke to clarify immediately.
"Oh gosh Clarissa! That's would never happen! I mean, look who's had a boyfriend?"
My comment just made her sigh and turn to the side. I saw the pain in her eyes, but I know it compared nothing to what she was feeling.
Ever since her tragedy in the 10th grade, she's never been the same. I'm surprised she's off of the demented idea of being a "cat lady".
"He's just been weird lately, yes he talks but all he talks about is you!" she cried.
I rolled my eyes trying show that I didn't care but I did. I felt a bit of joy as I heard those words.
Joy?! Why am I happy?!
"That doesn't mean anything! Watch, when I come back, I'm going to resume on my mission in bringing y'all two together." I said.
Lydia agreed with me, bringing a smile to Clarissa's face.
What seemed like minutes turned out to be hours as we talked cheerfully. These past days I haven't laughed so much and talked as I was now.
It became sad when they had to leave bringing the quiet me once more. After I took a nice warm shower, I changed into my PJs and laid on my bed, going to sleep.

I looked around the hallway it all started. I was walking down with Clarissa who wouldn't allow for me to be alone in a hallway ever again.
We stopped at my locker to grab my stuff and headed straight to our Chemistry class.
When we crossed the door I could sense everyone's eyes on me. I quickly ignored them and sat in my seat.I came to think Nathan wouldn't be here today, but my thoughts were wrong once I saw him come through those doors. Our eyes met, and sense of cheer was felt across my entire body. It was an inexplicable sense, but I knew he had it too because of that smile he showed once he saw me.
"Hey, your finally back" he placed his backpack on the floor and sat next to me.
"Yeah. I figured I couldn't stay much more at home despite my strong desire"
