The X Plan

With a splitting pain in her head and a weight in her chest, legs, and arms, Chi awoke, having rested on the couch. Attempting to push herself up, she felt a presence beside her.

"Chi," Leorio began, pushing her back down gently. "Don't try to move so soon- it's best you sit there until you're fully awake."

Placing her head back against a pillow, she turned to see that Kurapika, Alluka, and Killua were now coming into view.

"Thank you," Chi breathed, rubbing her temples. "I admit I should not have attempted running that distance in a day, but it's urgent."

"Yes, please explain that," Kurapika asked, sitting on a chair across from her. "What is happening to Usagi?"

Taking deep breaths before lightly sitting up, Chi looked at Kurapika and answered, "She's been tortured by Sachiko for... various reasons, with the intention of killing her. Obviously, Sachiko is drawing this out as long as possible, though I fear Magnus- our father- is quite tired of it. It's likely he will try to 'speed up' the process any day now."

The group was quiet for a moment as they each thought about what she had said.

"Did you come to us for a specific reason?" Killua asked, gesturing to the four of then as he sat forward in his chair, Alluka beside him.

"Yes, actually," Chi said, breathing deeply before beginning again. "I want someone to go with me to rescue her; I can't do this alone, and she will need medical attention.

"Also, Sachiko will be looking for us, so if possible we need to keep her out of hospitals for privacy reasons. Any ideas?"

"I'm a medical student," Leorio announced, watching her intently. "We can set up a temporary hospital room, and I can get equipment from the Hunter Association."

"Excellent. I think it's be best if you stayed here, if that's all right with you," Chi suggested, gesturing to Leorio.

"Fine with me," he agreed.

"Great. So, we need a get away driver, and seeing as I need to be infiltrating as well due to the fact that I know the grounds, it will need to be someone else. Killua?" Chi asked, looking at him.

"What? I can't drive," he quickly said before pointing to Kurapika. "He drives like hell, though."

"Then if it works with you, you can be the getaway driver. That leaves you, Killua," Chi said, getting serious as she looked at the male. "If you think you can handle it, I'll need you to go in with me."

Returning Chi's gaze, Killua nodded grimly before Chi looked at Alluka, smiling. "Your job is to stay here with Leorio and keep him company."

Alluka smiled back cutely, unaware of the grimness to the conversation.

"Leorio," Chi began, catching his attention. "How soon can you get medical supplies?"

"If I explain that it's urgent, I may be able to by tomorrow," he replied, assessing his options carefully. "When will this all begin?"

"Well, it's no secret that I'm in no state currently to do anything intense, so maybe I could rest today and we can head off tomorrow? Kurapika can drive us to the boardwalk leading to the estate, Killua and I can run to the mansion, get Usagi, run back, and Kurapika can get us the hell out of there."

"Sounds like a plan," Kurapika said, rubbing his hands together.

Chi merely smiled at them before reaching over to the coffee table and picking up a cup of water Leorio had set out for her; after gulping it down, she stood, waving her arms as she stretched.
