The next couple of days came and went, Usagi waking up the day after Killua and Leorio saw the oddity that is her Nen at work. They had decided not to bring it up in conversation.

The only other occurrence that week happened to be Killua becoming the same age as Usagi- good ol' fifteen.

They were mostly quiet, the only one mildly rambunctious was Alluka, but even she knew not to take it too far. Because Usagi was unable to leave their room (a rule issued primarily by Leorio) she made him a chocolate cake as his present.

That night, Killua finally got a full night's rest, which was a nice change, and actually crashed on a chair with Alluka snuggled beside him. Usagi didn't know how to react.

"At least he's asleep," Leorio had reminded her.

She only nodded in response, knowing that she was going to be the one without sleep. At least it was her, though; Killua had sacrificed enough sleep on her account.

Usagi slept on and off, her mind running wild with tangled thoughts, each crashing into another, a melee of her worst qualities.

That morning, Usagi awoke in a cold sweat.

If it was because of the toxicity of one's mind or the fact that Killua was up to fight today, she couldn't tell.

As she walked into the living area towards the kitchen, she could hear the voices of Killua and Alluka drifting towards her. Keeping her eyes forward, she was unable to see whose hand clasped her shoulder from behind; her stomach jumped into her throat as she froze.

"Hey, Usagi," Leorio said, and she let out the breath she hadn't realize was being held.

"Hey, Leorio... what's the plan for today?" Usagi asked, trying to sound like she didn't just have a mental meltdown for half a second.

"We're going to watch Killua's fight, and after that I'm not quite sure. I think I promised Alluka a while back that I would take her out for some ice cream, so we could all go," he suggested, looking towards Alluka when he mentioned her.

"Sounds like a plan."

"I wouldn't steer ya wrong."

The two sat down at the counter, where they each ate a quick breakfast; Killua sat next to Usagi, and had to use every ounce of self control he could muster to ask if she was okay. They began to clean up and it was too late by then.

The four grabbed everything they'd need, Leorio snatching the keys and holding the door before closing it after all of them.

As they neared the arena, Usagi felt an increasing amount of dread, as though she was being watched- as though they all were. Her eyes aimed upwards toward the high, brick archway, half expecting it to collapse as they stepped beneath it.

Killua noticed her wariness, and clasped her hand tightly.

As they neared the cutoff where the path to the seats branched off into the path to the battleground, she felt more and more watched; like the building had eyes in its walls.

She hardly even noticed when he had to let go.

The three of then walked up to their original seats on the bleachers, high above and with a view of everything. Alluka and Leorio began to talk rapidly about things unknown to Usagi, the girl tapping her foot uncontrollably as she sat and observed her surroundings.

She spotted Hanzo where he typically sat, off-set expression as had become the new norm.

Looking further and she could've sworn she saw Sachiko.
