Dinah drove us in her car to Allys house. Or more mansion. It was gigantic. Surrounded by a perfect gate. Hedges surrounding the sides. A fountain in the middle of a circlular drive. And Ally was out. Which wax certainly unforunet for her.
Because Dinah had eggs.
Ally spnoticed us and came forward. Dinah slipped the carton of eggs behind her back, slidding 1 into Laurens hand.
"Lauren?" Ally asked in disbelief.
"Yes?"
"What are you doing here?"
"You dumped me."
"Yes and that usually means you dont show up at my house."
"You never told me why."
Ally looked at Dinah and I. "This is kinda personal."
"Okay." We said.
"Will you guys give us a moment."
"No."
"Why?"
"Why should we trust you when you dumped our friend?" I asked.
She gave me an eyeroll and turned to Lauren. "I dumped you because your blind. Your stupid and blind and I dont want to have to baby sit my girlfriend."
That did it.
Lauren smashed the egg on Allys head with remarkable accuarcy. Dinah and I burst out laughing. Ally shrieked and ran inside. But there was the small flaw that her car was out.
Dinah directed Lauren to a position where she could hit the car. "Okay Allys gone but her car is here."
Lauren threw another egg and missed by inches.
"To the left."
Lauren hit a bullseye. And continued with startling perfection. I looked at Dinah who shrugged. "She had softball lessons."
A woman-probably Allys mom-came out with a look of shock.
Dinah stepped forward. "Mam, your daughters car has been severily egged by a blind girl. I will have to ask you to step back inside or we will have to call the police."
The woman gave a puzzeled look before turning back inside. I laughed. "Really?"
Dinah shrugged. "The trick is to twist things. Its the truth I told her but made it sound like she was the one in trouble."
I just shook my head and laughed. Dinah grabbed Laurens hand. "Feeling better?"
Lauren grinned. "Deffinetly."
"Lets get outa here."
