When I woke up I found my mom staring at me intently. Her eyes sparkling with something I could describe as either anger or disappointment. I slowly sat up. It took an extra long time, considering it was morning and my dose of the drug was already low. I needed some immediatly in my system I knew.

My mom rubbed my shoulder. "Last night a girl brought you home."

I nodded, my mouth unable to form words.

"Dinah Jane. Care to explain?"

I opened my mouth but no words came out. My moms eyes widened and she ran down stairs. She was back 5 minutes later with a glass of the Yin Fe. The weird drug I survived on. I gulped it down slowly. Trying to force my brain to focus on it.

But Dinah...

The support group...

The whip...

Red...

My attention slammed painfully back to my mom as I noticed the contents of the drink were gone and my mom was looking at me expectantly.

"What?" I asked. My brain finally able to communicate words.

"Dinah."

"Yes?"

"Who is she?"

I shrugged. "A girl I met at the support group you wanted so much for me to go to."

"Does she have any significance-"

"No." I interrupted hastily. "Just a friend."

My mom made a noise in her throat and lean back. "Hmm..."

"What?"

"Shes been texting you nonstop."

"So?"

My mom handed me my phone. "Just be careful who you let into your life."

I nodded. She had always been so protective of who came into our lives. Ever since the accident well... Its been aweful. And I was little at the time so it had pretty much been all of my life. Sucked really.

I scrolled through my texts.

From Dinah:

I got the book!

From Dinah:

Omg Rudy is adorable!

From Dinah:

The lady is a creep!

From Dinah:

Theivery together? Ship ship ship!

I laughed aloud to myself at her enthusiasm. I set my phone down and grabbed my own book. City of Bones was the first book in the Mortal Instruments series which I found beside my bedside. A note from Dinah on it.

I can only hope this series brings you the emotional pain and heartbreak it brought me.

~Dinah oxoxoxoxo

I was about to begin reading when my phone rang.

"Hello?"

"Normani Kordei?"

"Dinah?"

"Dinah Jane."

"Yes?"

"We have a situation."

I groaned. "What is it?"

"Lauren."

Silence. I took a shakey breath then said. "Where?"

"My house."

"Im there. 15 minutes."

Dead.

I jumped from my bed and grabbed my car keys and my bag. Checking to make sure my bottle of water and my cup of Yin Fe was in there. Then I grabbed my phone and went to the car.

"Going to Dinahs to check on Lauren!" I called out as I shut the door.

15 minutes later I raced up a houses stairs. Dinah had texted me her adress. The house was easily twice mines size. With a perfect yellow paint job and a huge oak tree in the front lawn with a tire swing. A bench straight fron and center of the yard.

I knocked on the door.

"Its open!" A voice shouted.

I walked in to find the wcent of pine hitting me. I smiled because it reminded me of Dinah. With her evergreen and roses scent. Weird combonation but she made it work. I heard the sounds of video games and a found a door on the side of the stairs leading to a basement.

I found my way down to a low ceiling bedroom. The bed pushed to the right wall. A TV at the upper left corner. A couch at the end and a dresser and closet on the left wall. Dinah was furiously working her thumbs with an xbox controller. Lauren was lying on the bed.

I sat beside Lauren. Rubbing her back. "You okay girly?"

She flipped her self over to stare at the celing. "Never."

Dinah laughed a little. "Ironic you use the word opposite of always."

Lauren groans and begins to cry again a little.

I give Dinah a puzzeled look. "Always was her and Allys word." She said without moving her eyes from the screen.

"She told me always!" Lauren groaned. "Always together. Always yours. Always mine. Always always always."

Dinah threw down her controller. "Lauren you need to get this off you."

She grabbed a throphy from the shelf above her bed. Handing it to Lauren.

"Smash."

Laurens eyes widened and she began handing it back. "Thats from you winning a swimming tornument. I cant-"

"Do it. I want you to."

"Dinah no really-"

"Do it. Common. Crush it like Ally did your heart."

Laurens gaze hardened.

"Pretend its Allys heart. What did she do to yours huh?"

Laurens grip tightened. "Dinah."

"Didnt she say you guys would be together. Always?"

Lauren screamed in pure rage and threw it down. Proceeding to grab all the trophies and either slam them into the wall or the ground. Anger coarsing through her veins.

When she had finished Dinah was smirking, leaning against her wall.

"Im so sorry Dinah-"

"Its fine." She assured her. "They didnt mean anything anyways."

Lauren nodded and gave a smile.

I gave an evil smile. "I think she needs more cheering up." I hinted at Dinah.

Dinah grinned. "And I know just how to do it."
