Chapter 30: Confessions
*Chris's POV*
I look at my alarm clock and it's 6:55 a.m. Daaaamn!!! I hate when I wake up before my alarm clock. I usually would say fuck it and get my five minutes of sleep, but today I was already wide awake.
"Man fuck!!!"
As soon as I curse my mom pops in my room.
"You better watch your damn mouth boy, and get ready for school. Up in my house cussin like you pay bills. You got-"
As usual my mom starts yelling at me and continues her rant walking downstairs. I get out of bed and take a shower. I get out, do my morning routine, and get dressed. While I'm putting my earrings on, my text message alert goes off 4 times.
"Well damn, who is blowing me up?"
"Good morning beautiful"
I smile and respond to Kamaal's text, and go through the other ones.
Myra: Biiiiitch!!! Hurry up and get here. I'm hungry!!!
Unknown Text: Good morning sexy
Unknown Text: I'll see you at school :-)
I can't believe I'm still getting these stalker text messages. As I grab my backpack and keys, I sit there and wonder who could be sending me these messages. It can't be Jamal, because after that ass kicking that Kamaal served him, he hasn't bothered me. I brush the thoughts out my head and head to Myra's house. I pull up to her house with my windows rolled down and honked the horn as loudly as I can. Myra comes out the house strutting, but this time she has music playing through her phone. I decided to support her.
"Yeeeesss bitch!!! Work, work, work"
Myra continues waking around her driveway with a serious look on her face. She snaps her fingers turns around and drops on the ground.
"Bitch get your dumb ass in the car." I say as I laugh my ass off.
"Boo you suck. Ruining my strut and shit. But lets go to McDonald's since we have time left over."
I drive off, and head to the McDonald's that's close to our school. I pull around the drive-thru, and pull the window down.
"Can I get a sausage biscuit with...a...Ora...please?" Myra says as she leans over.
I give Myra a what the fuck look. She puts a finger over her lips.
I'm sorry what was that?
"I said can I get a sausage biscu...an...oran...jui...please?"
"I'm sorry ma'am, my head set is having issues, can you pull up to the first window?"
I roll my window up laughing my ass off. This girl is really a trip. I pull up to the first window and we give her our orders. I pay for our meals, and she gives us a receipt and tells us to go to the next window.
"By the way, your head set is fine. I was making it seem like it was breaking up." Myra says as she laughs
I shrug my shoulders and pull up to the next window. We receive out orders and make our way to school eating our food on the way.
*Myra's POV*
This whole winking thing with Kamaal is really bothering me a little bit. I know it's just a thing he does, but the way he did it is eating me up. It wasn't one of those playful winks, it looked like one of those flirty winks. Maybe I'm looking to deep in to it.
"Chris, I have something to tell you."
"Wassup?"
"It's about Kamaal."
"What about him?" Chris says as he takes a sip from his frappe
"Well, yesterday during his basketball tryout, I think I exposed myself a little too much to him."
"Meaning?"
"Well you know how the cheerleaders dress during practice? I walked over to Kamaal, and he was almost drooling at my body." I say with a serious look on my face.
"I mean can you blame him? Your frame is perfect. Hell, I'll drool myself."
"I know right!!! But anyway, throughout practice, I was cheering him on, you know trying to be a good friend. He looked over and winked at me twice. It didn't look like one of those playful winks. It kinda made me feel a little awkward."
Chris spits out his frappe and laughs his ass off.
"What the fuck is so funny?"
"Girl, is that it?"
"Yeah, why is that so funny?" I ask him
"Because you had me thinking something bad happened. You know Kamaal. He's naturally a friendly person, and does that to everyone he knows."
"I know but-"
"Look, if it makes the situation any better, I'll talk to him about it today. Is that cool?"
"Yeah that's fine. I'm glad I got that off my chest."
"You know what, this makes me respect you even more. I'm glad you came to me and told me about it, even if it was something small."
"Thats what friends are for."
"Alright, enough of this. You know I don't play that sentimental bullshit."
"Bitch have several seats. You know damn well you're the sensitive one out of all of us." I say as I flip my hair.
We laugh, get out the car as head inside the building.
*Chris's POV*
Myra just told me that Kamaal has been winking at her. It didn't really bother me at all, because I know Kamaal, and that's just what he does. I'm not phased by it at all, but I'm gonna honor my best friends wishes and talk to him about it. I walk in home room and I see Kamaal sitting at his desk. I give him a kiss on the cheek, and sit next to him.
"Wassup lil buddy?"
"Hey boo, let me talk to you about something."
"Sure, what's on your mind?" Kamaal says as he closes his book.
"Well Myra just told me while she was cheering you on at tryouts yesterday you have her a few winks and was drooling at the sight of her body."
"Seriously Chris?" Kamaal says as he laughs
"I said the same thing, but I told her I would talk to you about it."
"Nah it was nothin like that. I mean, yeah I was starin at her body a lil, but who wouldn't. Those winks meant nothin. She was supportin me, so I just shot a few friendly winks back at her."
"I see. It just made her a little uncomfortable."
"Oh I didn't mean it like that. I'll apologize to her at lunch."
The rest of the period goes by, and it's time for English. My phone vibrates in my pocket.
Text Message: You look good today :-)
Text Message: You need to leave to leave that pretty boy, and fuck with a real nigga.
I put my phone on silent because I didn't want to bothered with these anonymous messages. I finish my work for English class, and it's time for lunch. Kamaal and I head to the cafeteria, and Myra and Trey are already there.
