Chapter 33: Tell Him the Truth
*The next day*
*Jamal's POV*
I'm so excited that I made the team this year. Everything seems to be falling into place. My grades are up to par, I made the team, my SAT's are good, and now all I gotta do is start looking up schools. That punk nigga Kamaal made the team too. What makes matters worse is that we both are team captains now. Now I gotta work side by side with this nigga? Ugh, Coach must've did this shit on purpose to make us come together or something. I'll work with him, but I'm not about to settle anything with him no time soon. I send a few text messages and make my way to class.
*Myra's POV*
I'm glad Kamaal and I straightened this whole winking thing out. Now I can finally focus on my boo Demetri. We've been doing good so far. Last night, we went to go see a movie and lets just say I can't wipe this smile off my face. I'm sitting at our table in the cafeteria with Trey, and Chris comes over.
"Where's your boyfriend?" I ask Chris
"He's doing some make up work for English class. I told his ass about all this skipping he's been doing."
"I guess. Did y'all two have fun last night?"
"I wasn't with Kamaal last night."
"Bitch, I wasn't talking about you and pretty boy swag. I was talking about you and Trey."
"I can't speak for Chris but I had a blast last night." Trey says. I look over and Trey and he has the widest smile in the world.
"Chris what about you? I'm mad you bitches didn't invite me."
"I had a great time too. Trey was laughing at me singing Love on Top at the skating rink, and he ran right into the wall."
"Damn Trey!!! Chris you remember when he fell and chipped his teeth?"
"I brought that up last night when I was helping his clumsy ass up." Chris says as we both laugh our assess off
"Both of y'all shutup." Trey says
We continue talking, and Kamaal makes his way over to our table. We greet him, and continue laughing and talking. Kamaal eventually gets up, and sits with a few guys on the basketball team.
Chris: I'm gonna get some hot wings. Do y'all want anything?
"Nah I'm good." Trey says
"No, I'm fine boo."
Chris walks away and gets in line to get his hot wings. I turn to Trey and get ready to start my investigation.
"What?" Trey asks as he looks up from his phone
"Alright nigga....what's really good?'
"Myra, what are you talking about?"
"You must not know the expressions you have on your face."
"What do you mean?"
When I brought up last night, you smiled so hard and started blushing. Your leg was shaking and you had this glow. It's obvious."
"What are you saying Myra?"
"You like Chris! Admit it!"
"What?" Trey asks as he sucks his teeth. "Hell nah I don't like him. That's my best friend!"
"But you want him to be more. I bet you're his stalker, huh?" I ask him
"No I'm not. I don't send anonymous text messages. That's childish."
"Well it's obvious that you like Chris, and you need to tell him."
I know my best friend like an open book. I know he has a crush on Chris but he's too damn stubborn to admit it. I know I'm not trippin. Chris comes back with a plate full of hot wings and he goes in. Trey and I stare at him while he eats.
"Damn, do y'all want some?"
"Shit you sharing?" Treh says as he grabs a hot wing, and Chris slaps his hand.
"Nigga back up. You know I don't share food."
"I shared that sundae with you last night." Trey says
"Yeah, and you took all the hot fudge."
"Thats only because-"
"Ugh, you bitches are killing me with your constant arguing!"
*Chris's POV*
Trey and I continue arguing as Myra rolls her eyes and laughs. They already know not to ask me for food because I don't share.
"So, did you ever find out who your stalker was?" Trey asks me
"Oh, you have a stalker Chris?"
I jump in my seat. I didn't even realize Kamaal was behind me. I didn't wanna tell him about it, until I figured out who it was. I look at Trey and he mouths I'm sorry.
"Yeah, someone has been sending me random text messages to me."
"Well who the fuck is it?"
"I don't know!"
"Let me holla at you right quick Chris." I follow Kamaal out in the hallway.
"How long has this been going on?" Kamaal asks me as he leans against the wall. I look off to the side, not saying anything.
"Answer me Chris!"
"For a few days." I tell him
"So when were you gonna tell me, Chris?"
"I wanted to figure out who it was before I told you."
My phone vibrates in my pocket. Kamaal and I both look down.
"Well who is it?"
I look at my phone and it's my stalker again.
"Let me see your phone." Kamaal says as he hold out his hand
I hand Kamaal my phone and he reads the messages my stalker sent me. He hands me my phone, and then looks down the hallway.
*Kamaal's POV*
Man, I don't know why Chris aint even tell me he had someone stalkin him. I wish he would've told me sooner. I grab his phone and look through the messages his stalker sent him. I give him his phone back and look down the halkway.
"Bae, stay here. I'll be right back."
"Kamaal, wait-"
Before Chris could finish his sentence, I rush down the hallway with nothing but rage in my eyes. I grab Jamal by his shoulder and jack him up against a set of lockers.
"Didn't I tell you to leave my shorty alone?"
"I have no idea what your talking about." Jamal says with a smile on his face
I slam his back against the locker and he winces in pain.
"I ain't stupid nigga. I know you been sendin him text messages. You betta leave him alone, or else you'll have somethin comin to you. Try me nigga."
I let Jamal go and walk back inside the cafeteria acting as if nothing happened.
