Chapter 6: The Note Part I
*Kamaal's POV**
My little sister was finally feeling better and I was ready to go back to school. Yeah, a nigga was feelin bein at home for a couple days, but after a while, I was happy to be out of the house. I walk in to English class and I see Chris's lil ass lookin around. I know he's lookin for me. I think I'll sneak up behind him and surprise him. I go to my desk and give him a light tap on his shoulder. He jumps, almost making the desk move.
"Who you lookin for bruh?"
"Nigga don't be poppin out of nowhere like that!!! I wasn't looking for anybody." Chris says
"Mhmmm....sure you weren't."
"I wasn't. Where have you been these past two days?" he asks as he rolls his eyes.
"My little sister was sick so I had to stay home and take care of her. Awww, did somebody miss me??"
"Ain't nobody miss yo big head ass."
I know this lil nigga was lyin. I be catchin the way he looks at me sometimes. I ain't gon' lie, lil buddy is kinda cute. His short self, his slim lil body, his flawless skin, and dat nigga got some pretty ass eyes. He must be related to Duncan cause dat nigga got plenty cakes. As we continue to talk some more, Ms. Richards walks in the room and gives us more notes to take. I mean damn, when will this lady give us a break? We've been takin notes since the first day. We continue to take notes and I notice Chris look back at me. I wink and smile at him and that's when he loses focus. Ms. Richards asked him if he agreed with some shit she wrote on the board. She caught him not payin attention, hell I wasn't either. I couldn't help but laugh. I take a break from takin notes and decide to write a note of my own. I fold the paper up and stick it in my pocket to give to Chris later. The bell finally rings. As Chris is gettin his shit together, I tap him on his shoulder again and hand him the note. He takes the note, and I walk out the classroom smilin to myself. Yeah, I'm diggin lil buddy a lil bit. I hope he reads it soon. I'm all the way in the cafeteria when I realized I left my backpack in the classroom. I run back to Ms. Richardson's class. I grab my backpack and talk to Ms. Richardson about the homework she assigned us. I notice Chris talkin to dat nigga Trey, but as usual, Chris is focused on me. I wink at him and that keeps his attention.
"Y-y-yeah man. I'm good. Chris says as he stutters through his words.
"Chris your stuttering again. Who you crushing on this time?" Trey says as he laughs.
"Nobody man...I'm g-good...real good...you know good."
Trey looks over at me, and back to Chris. Chris is sweatin like a drug dealer in a room full of cops. I think it's kinda cute the nigga be stutterin when he gets around me. I never noticed he did it until I met his other friend Myra the other day. I see Chris leaving the classroom, and he gives me a cute lil smile. I got it bad for lil buddy though. Hell, the only reason why I asked him to show me around this weekend is because I wanna get some alone time and get to know him a lil better. I've been here almost 3 months. This town ain't but so big, so I know where some things are at. I finish my conversation with Ms. Richardson and head toward the cafeteria.
Chris's POV:
After dealing with Jamal, I make my way towards the cafeteria and sit next to Myra.
"Heeeeey everybody hates Chris!!! We were just talking about you." Myra says as I sit down.
She is a mess. Always referring my name to that tv show. If its not one nickname, it's another. I look around and I see Trey grinning like Spongebob's stupid moments with Patrick. I knew they were both about to start some shit.
"Oh really?? Good things I hope." I say as I glare at both of them.
"Yeah nigga, g-good things...real good things...yeah good things." Trey says as he tries to imitate me.
Trey looks over at Myra, and they burst out in extreme laughter.
"Ummm, I love a joke as much as the next nigga does, so what's good?"
"Well who pissed in your Cherrios this morning?" Myra says as she laughs. "It's nothing bad Chrissy. Look, what are you doing this weekend?"
"Nothin I- waaaaait..." I say as I slap my forehead. "I almost forgot I made plans with Kamaal."
Trey and Myra fall out their seats and on the floor. Now if y'all thought Myra was a mess, put her and Trey together and you'll see what happens. I couldn't help but laugh at their reaction.
"Well what do y'all niggas got planned." Trey asks me
"I don't know yet. He just wants me to show him around town." I say as I shrug my shoulders.
"Bitch it sounds like a date to me." Myra says as she takes a sip through the straw of her water.
"Myra it's not a date. We're just hanging out, that's."
"Nope, it's a date." Trey says
Myra and Trey continue their rant about this so called date and I notice Kamaal walk over to our table. Immediately I get nervous. Trey and Myra notice it, and start laughing.
"What's good y'all?" Kamaal asks as he sits down.
Trey and Myra wave at Kamaal and look right at me.
"Hey Chris let me holla at you right quick."
Immediately Myra and Trey start singing
"Can we taaaalk, for a minute. Boy I want to knooow your name!!! Can we taaaallk....." They sing as Trey beats his fist on the table, and Myra snaps her fingers.
I hurry up and get up and go talk to Kamaal before these two fools start dancing. I don't want them bringing attention to our table. I grab my backpack and follow Kamaal out the cafeteria.
