Chapter 51: Something Ain't Right
*Myra's POV*
It's game day and everyone in school has been showing their school sprit. The boys walk around with paint all over their faces, and girls have clothes with our school name on it, and cut it all up lookin all ratchet and shit. Trey and I are at my house getting ready to head out. As usual, I'm taking forever to get ready. What do you expect? I'm Miss Cross High School and head cheerleader, so of course I have to look glamorous tonight. Thank god the school hooked us up with better uniforms, because those ones we had before were really old. Trey starts complaining because Demetri is outside waiting on us.
"Myra would you please hurry the hell up? Trey yells from downstairs
"Shutup punk, I'm almost ready."
Ten minutes later Demetri starts blowing his horn. Oh hell no. He knows better than to rush the queen. I open my window and yell at him
"Stop blowin! I'm comin nigga, damn!"
I shut my window close and take a few more minutes to get ready just to piss them off. I walk outside and get inside Demetri's car. I guess I was taking to long cause him and Trey were damn near high as hell.
"Damn baby, what took you so long?"
"Hush boy, it takes time to get all this ready.
"Do you not realize we had to be at the school 15-"
"Oh please Demetri...it's not like you're playing anyway. You've been riding the bench since the playoffs started."
"Shots fired." Trey says from the backseat
"Nah it's cool Trey. See unlike the cheerleaders, at least we go places and win shit occasionally."
"More shots fired!"
"Oh you wanna go there Demetri? Lets talk about the 24 points you made this entire season, and that was during the first few games!"
"Jesus take the wheel!"
I laugh at Trey, and Demetri and I continue joking on each other.
"Just so you know, you really blew my high." Demetri says
"Good nigga! You shouldn't be smoking before a game anyway. Briggs will kick your ass if you show up high."
"But Trey had-"
"Don't blame Trey. You took the blunt from me as soon as I fired it up."
Trey takes another blunt out his pocket and gets ready to fire it up.
"Trey this is a new uniform, and I don't wanna show up smelling like straight up weed."
"Ugh....I don't know why they gave y'all new uniforms. I think it's a waste."
"I thought you were on my side Trey."
I was until you told me I couldn't smoke my shit. Wouldn't wanna mess up your precious uniform.
We pull up to the gym and talk some more since it was still early.
"Have any of y'all heard from Chris? Is he coming?"
"He told me he was gonna meet us here. That's why I came with you and Demetri. Why?"
"I don't know. I was blowing up his phone last night and today, but I didn't get an answer."
"Yeah so was I. But then again, he was with Kamaal last night, so ain't no tellin what they were doin." Trey says
"But Chris always answers his phone though."
