Friday came again (finally). I missed the last two days of school, but I was doing a lot better now, so there was no excuses.
Grandmother visited me yesterday to make sure I was doing okay and promised to come again on Sunday.
Everything was going well.
As I shut my locker, a small piece of paper fell out. Or maybe it was there all along, and I just didn't notice.
I put it in the back pocket of my jeans, I'd see what it was later.
Jennie ran up behind me, "Hey! You're back!"
"Yeah,"
"How the hell did you manage to hurt yourself like that?" She asked after giving me a light hug, careful not to make contact with my ribs.
"Attempting a backflip," I scoffed, "I really though I could do it."
"But how did you get hurt there?"
"I needed to take a few steps for balance after flipping but instead walked into a table." I winced at the thought.
"You're so stupid." She laughed. "But you don't have a table at your apartment yet."
"I wasn't at home..."
"Then where were you?"
"At Jungkook's apartment." I said hastily.
"Jungkook, your rich buddy dude? He lives in an apartment?"
"He's a really humble kid."
"But we saw pictures of his house that time we googled him"
"Oh, he lives with one of his friends."
"That makes sense." Jennie said, "But why were you backflipping?"
"I felt like showing off."
"Idiot."
"I know."
"Anyways, you should come shopping with me after school today. Me and my friend from a different school were gonna go today, but I didn't want to ask you until I knew you were doing better."
"Yeah, I'm down for that."
"Okay, we'll take the bus there after school."
"Cool."
"Let's go find Mark." She changed the topic.
"Why?"
"Why not? You don't wanna see your cruuuuuush." She sing-songed.
"Just asking," I said, a little embarrassed.
"Do you like Mark?"
"Ummm, yes?" I raised an eyebrow.
"Like really like him?"
