~ Kaisee ~
"How are you gonna get home?" Mark asked, as we approached the school exit. His hand lightly bumped into mine as we walked— slightly awkward, but mostly cute— the rain was still pouring heavily."Oh, a friend drives me home usually."
"Jungkook?" He looked down.
"Yeah." I pulled my hair out of my face.
"I don't really get a good feeling about him......" Mark's voice trailed off.
"Uh why?"
"I dunno, there's just something about him."
"If you're jealous already—"
He cut me off, "Don't worry about me in this case, I don't mind you hanging out with him, but please be careful." Mark's eyes looked caring, but his tone was different.
"I don't understand what you see that I don't."
"I'm going to assume we got very different first impressions. Bye bye Kaisee!!" He smiled at me, pulled on his hood, and ran.
"Could be." I muttered, while waving.
I didn't doubt that that impression could've effected his perception of Jungkook.... especially if Mark saw him how he was like this morning. When he seemed fragile and dark— and I was sure as hell it wasn't just because of the English test. I just couldn't bring myself to ask for the truth, when he seemed so reluctant to tell. I'd never seen Jungkook like that.
He was always bold and funny and confident. That kind of personality with the perfect complement of his closed-eye smile and loud cackle-laugh. That Jungkook was the one I had known this whole time. I really liked that Jungkook (even enough to doubt other things goddammit). But I didn't even know what I thought of the 'other' one.
Of course I knew there was more to him, nobody can be happy forever. But it made me realize, how little I know about Jungkook so far.... Something was bothering him, on his birthday no less. Something made me want to just sit in that car with him and just talk for hours and hours. So that he wouldn't stare at the rain through the window with those eyes during every class. So that.... maybe, he felt happy? I felt like I should do that for him, I guess.....
.........I guess I'm just being dramatic.
"Kaisee-ah!" I heard a yell. I looked up and spun my head around. "Yah! Park Kaisee! Look up!"
Seokjin was standing near me, motioning for me to come with him. "What happened?" I asked him.
"Jungkook ran to go bring the car to the pickup area here, since he has an umbrella and raincoat. He'll drop you off at home first, since I don't have work today."
"Oh okay!" I said, "Is it his birthday today?"
"Yeah. Seventeen years old.... damn..." Jin said, pushing up his "trademark" (according to the large amount of girls in the school that fawned over him) thin circular glasses, "We've lived together for five years..."
"He moved on his birthday?"
"Three and a half weeks from today, but it's basically five years."
