~ Jungkook ~

The rain welcomed in October. The sides of windows were streaked with the torrent.

The letter shook in my hands. I read the text over again a few times. I'm in. Jeon Jungkook, a trainee of BigHit Entertainment.

I'm in.

The rain always seemed to welcome in a new chapter in Jeon Jungkook's pretty depressing but also pretty amazing life

Sure the acceptance was great but what comes next could be painful.

The final step. My father would have to sign the contract. I'd have to talk to him... and I'd have to tell him this.

I picked up my phone, and lightly tapped in my father's phone number, as if it would make the overall impact less. My finger hovered over the call button. With my eyes closed, I pressed down.

"You've reached Jeon Enterprises, this is Mr. Jeon's secretary, how may I help you?"

"This is his son, Jungkook. I need to speak to him."

"Ahh yes, I'll transfer the call over to Mr. Jeon. Please hold for a moment, he's on a different call right now."

"Thank you so much."

"No problem."

The line was quiet for a minute. Another minute. A third minu—

"Jungkook-ah?" My father's smooth, deep voice came through the phone speaker.

"Uh yes! Hello!"

"You haven't called in a while."

"I've been busy."

"As have I. Happy Birthday.....?" He sounded ashamed, "I'm sorry for not wishing you the day of."

"Better late than never."

"Did you want a present or something?"

Perfect.

"Oh yeah." I took a big breath, "It's actually more of a favor...um..." the tension was thick, "Recently... I did an audition..."

Fuck... I was speaking too slowly...

"I passed the audition, now you need to sign the contract, as, um, my legal adult guardian."

"Entertainment company?" He sighed.

"Yeah"

"Which one?"

"It's called BigHit Entertainment."

"I've never heard of it. Why didn't you go for JYP or SM... one of those big shot companies."

"Not my thing."

"I lost your brother to art, I'll lose you to this. Your future is in jeopardy now... I hope you understand. Every opportunity you have for university will be hindered by this."
