"Okay y'all, Trey texted me saying they will be here in ten minutes." I told them as I fixed my hair. Ugh, I'm just so ready for this stuff to start.
"Thank you Jesus! Because I am hungry as heck!" Jos said.
"Girl you ain't never lied. But there won't be any food food there. Just some snacks and stuff. Hopefully we can go get some food after." I told her.
"Why not before? Isn't there an after homecoming party?"
"Yea, Que and a few other football players are throwing a hotel party. I might just show up and then go get some food. Not really in the mood for some party to be honest."
"Oh okay. Who's throwing the after party on prom night?" Khris asked.
"I don't know. Ask Mar. That nigga know everything when it comes to school...that has nothing to do with school." Nae said.
"Don't talk about my baby like that. What's wrong with you?"
We all laughed. "Girl chill."
Once the boys arrived, we all took pictures and climbed into limo and made our way to the school. This would be the first time since the school year started that we've all just hung out together having fun. I'm excited to put life on hold for a second and just live for a night. Be with the people I love. This is our senior year and we won't have many more nights like this. We will soon be going our separate ways, living our lives, being grew ups and what not.
Don't get me wrong, I'm excited to start my life but at the same time I don't want to leave all my homies. I don't want our connects and relationships to die. They've helped me a lot during my time here and I appreciate them so much for that. My niggas are like my family and leaving them would hurt.
We pulled up to the school and we all got out, couple by couple. We all parted and Trey went to the bathroom which left Kenny and I.
"Where's your date Kenny?" I asked him.
"Oh wait, here she comes now." He said.
I followed his gaze and that girl Jada was walking straight towards him.
"Well look at you girl damn." He said as he placed his arms around her.
She looked a little disgusted but tried to hide it. I know better tho.
"Oh Deena right?" She said to me.
"No actually it's Dri-"
"Oh that's good." She cut me off.
"Hey baby." Trey said as he came up behind me.
"Well, if it isn't Trey. How've you been? It's been too long." Jada said to him.
"Wait, y'all know each other?" Kenny asked.
"Yea, we go way back. Ain't that right?" She said.
"What are you doing here?" Trey asked slightly upset.
"Oh, she's my date." Kenny said.
Kenny came sophomore year so he wouldn't know about their history. Trey doesn't even know I know.
This is about to get awkward.
"Let's go baby." He said.
"Wait bro, what you about to do?" Kenny asked.
"Spend the night with my girl, why?" He snapped. He is definitely not happy about this.
"Damn, my bad. I just figured we could hangout. Like a double date or something."
