Still Adjusting (New Adjustments part 2)

I swear, this school makes a party out of everything. Not only do we have the end of school year party, but there is also the Christmas Eve party and the New Years bash. At my old school in Atlanta we just had a New Years eve party. Last year all this partying was exhausting but this year, I'm excited. It's senior year man! I passed all my classes and my grades were good this semester so I'm ready and it's long overdue. 

"You having fun?" Trey asked as he sat next to me. 

I Looked up at him as he scanned the crowd lifting his cup to his lips. He's been stressing over his dad and over college but right now in this very moment, he looks...relaxed?

"Yea, I am. Are you?" 

He looked down at me and smiled with his arm around my shoulder. He pulled me closer so my head was resting in between his arm. He leaned his head down to meet my lips. He placed a soft, gentle kiss on my lips, then another on my forehead and then smiled again. 

"Why wouldn't I be? I'm here with the most amazing, beautiful women I've ever laid eyes on. The most fascinating person I've ever had the pleasure of getting to know. Of course I'm having fun."

I put my hand on his cheek and leaned up to plant a sweet loving kiss on his lips. I pulled me in close to deepen it.

"Get a room."

We broke apart and Trey smiled at me.

"I guess we'll have to continue this another time." He kissed my nose and I giggled.

"You just ruined the whole vibe Jos! But did you talk to Joel about old girl yet?"

She sat in the seat next to me and sighed. 

"Nope, I don't know when's the right time."

Trey looked around. "Hmmm now. Schools out for the next couple of weeks which means you can have your little break and be good when it's time to go back."

"For once you might be right." She stood up, straightened her shoulders and walked into the crowd. "Wish me luck."

"That's going to be a very intense conversation."

"I know." I sipped my drank and relaxed against Trey's shoulders. 

*JOS POV*

After getting my courage up, I stormed around looking for Joel. It is pass time to break up with him. I should've done this months ago. Better late than never right? 

"Hey, have you seen Joel?" I asked one of his swim teammates. 

"Uhhh yea, I saw him a few minutes ago. I think he was heading up stairs to find a bathroom or something."

"Thanks."

I know damn well its not for a bathroom. He probably with that bitch he was with the other day but its all good.

I made my way up the stairs looking through the different rooms. The first room was a bathroom. The next had people smoking in it, the next was empty, surprisingly. The last door I heard sex noises coming from it. 

"Yea, I'm not going in there." As I turned around to walk back downstairs, something coming from the room stopped me in my tracks.

"I know damn well that ain't his cheating  ass!"

He has a distinguished sound when he's having sex and that right there, is it.

I pushed the door open and there his ass was. Pants down to his ankles, shoes and shirt still on, the girl was completely naked as he was hitting her from the back.

"You know, I was coming up here to break up with you and I'm thinking 'man, this might be hard' but then I see this..." I gestured towards them on the bed. "Man, you're making this so easy." I smiled at him.

"Baby, I'm so sorry. This is not what it looks like." He stood up from the bed and tired to pull his pants up to cover his dick. "Please let me expla-"

"Explain what?" I cut him off. "Explain how you've been cheating on me, and this isn't the first time I've heard about this. If you didn't want to be with me, all you had to do was say that bro. I'm not in this shit for laughs and giggles! You know what?" I closed me eyes and took a few deep breathes. "We, are done. Lose my number and never contact to me again. Have fun with..." I looked at the girl that was trying to dress herself under the covers. "Wait, is that Lina?! The girl you said was 'just a friend'? Wow, you really are a piece of shit."

I laughed as I walked out of the room. Wow, I'm free...

*NAE'S POV*

"How about we get out of here? Do some things we can't do in front of everyone here?" B whispered in my ear. 

This man knows exactly how to turn me on! What am I going to do with him? But before I could answer his question, my phone started ringing.

"Hold on babe, this is my aunt calling." I gave him my cup and walked out to the backyard, where it was somewhat quiet.

"Hey auntie, that's going on?" I answered. 

"Honey, it's your mom. She's been in an accident."

"What? Is she okay? Where is she?" My mind is running a million miles per second.

"Calm down baby, she's okay. She was drunk and her car hit a fence. We're at the hospital now getting her stitched up. Why didn't you tell anyone her drinking was this bad? We would've helped sooner."

"I don't know. I didn't know what to say at first the and then it just became...constant and I didn't care anymore. She doesn't listen to me and she doesn't listen to y'all, so what was the point?"

"I know this is hard, but we will get her some help. I talked with a consoler at the hospital and she set up an appointment that will help your mom get into one of the best rehabs on the east coast. I think she'll do very well there."

"Okay, well I hope this one works because I don't think she'll survive without a change. When is the appointment? Is she going to be staying in the hospital tonight?"

"The appointment is tomorrow and yes. I'll be here for a few more hours and then I'll be at your house tonight. There are some things we need to talk about. But don't worry, its nothing bad. There's just going to be a lot of changes and we'll talk all about that later. But enjoy the rest of the party baby, I love you."

"Love you too auntie, see you later." I hung up the phone. I wonder that else we need to talk about. 

*Dria's POV*

I looked at my watch and realized it was getting late. Because the music was too loud, I yelled into Trey's ear.

"When do you think we should go?!"

"What time is it?! Are you getting tired?!" he yelled back.

"A little bit and it's 11:30!"

He looked at his Apple Watch on his left wrist. "Dang, well we can do some rounds and then leave. You still coming to the crib?" He lead me outside where it was a little quieter. 

"Of course. I missed you all week!" I wrapped my arms around his neck and leaned into him kissing his cheek. 

He wrapped his arms around my waist and planted a few sweet kisses on my lips. 

"Okay, well there's Nae over there with B. Let's go holla at them and see if we can find anyone else. If not, we'll leave."

He kissed me one last time and we walked over to our friends.
