Xime's Fall

Several days passed, and the group gradually understood their powers. The most progress was made by Shesa, and she began to make pools of water where she could. Fyrca tended to take the lead in the meetings they had each day before going to bed. Theon often just observed the others practices, giving advice and suggestions. Xime also was present, but watched with no real purpose other than to use up time. One day, however, he got an idea.

"What if we made new life?" He asked. Shesa's water bubble that she had been practicing with fell.

"What do you mean?"

"We know we are supposed to create, but all we do is sit around trying to understand our powers."

"Well, you don't do anything." Theon pointed out. "You could learn something new. Or maybe go under strength training with Mesan."

Xime waved Theon's comment away. "My point is, why don't we create new life so we can give more meaning to Giri?"

"I would be open to it." Mesan said.

"Oo! I can't wait to help akun pick their name." Aruki agreed, excited.

"We have never tried anything like it before." Fyrca said, concerned. "How are we even going to try doing that?"

The group fell silent. Xime thought for a moment, then snapped his fingers. "Every Chra has needs to have a form right?"

"We all do, so probably." Theon considered what he meant. "It would at least be a place to start. We can move forward from there."

Fyrca's hair blazed with delight. "This is going to be so cool. What should akun look like?"

For the rest of the day, and all through the night, they suggested and came up with ideas for the new life they were about to create. Eventually, they decided on a female figure like them. Mesan made the body, Shesa made the water in their veins. Aruki waited for the time where she would help the girl have her first breath. Theon took Xime aside to talk to him about something he had been thinking about.

"I don't know how to give someone consciousness." He explained. "And even if I did, how would she know right from wrong?"

"We all are going to teach her the difference of right and wrong."

"And what about free will? I don't think I can give her that."

"So I will give it to her, after you create her mind." Xime put a hand on Theon's shoulder. "I am the one of morality, after all. And I'll be with you when you give her consciousness. We all will. You have nothing to worry about."

"And what if we create something evil?"

"Then we will figure it out then. You are just nervous about something that anyone could be. We are all pitching in, and none of us are quite knowing we are doing. Fyrca's going to give her warmth. She hasn't talked to me, but I am almost certain she is afraid of burning her."

"I'm still worried." Xime shook his head, removing his hand.

"I know. We all are. And besides, think: if we do manage to create life, don't you think it was worth the risk?"

"Yes." Theon said, smiling weakly. "It would be."

"Then come on." Xime playfully bumped his fellow gian in the shoulder. "Let's go create some life."

The group settled in the courtyard they made in front of the staircase leading to the home. Everyone was nervous. Mesan and Shesa laid the body on the ground gently. Aruki stood by, waiting for Fyrca's command. Theon got ready. He glanced at Xime, who gave eye contact and nodded. Theon took a breath and exhaled. He tried his best to create a mind for the girl. Xime began to include what he thought was free will. There was a white light, which turned black then grey. The light was lowered to the girl's body.
