The next deckro, Olina was brushing Tomano's hair with her fingers. Tomano sat patiently while Aryn reviewed math problems with Carlos to pass the time. "7 x 28"
"196."
"2a equals seven times eight plus five."
"Thirty point five."
"Hm." Aryn thought for a moment, before getting interrupted by Fire.
"Hey, orphans." Everyone stopped and looked at him. He gestured to his leader. "Trio leader wants to talk to you."
"Thank you, Fire." The cat-like Zikor gestured for the Dian-like one to leave. "I got this from here."
"What do you want?" Tomano asked.
"You talk big for someone who can't move."
"Well, what DO you want from us?" Carlos asked. "You have rarely even spoken a word us since we got here."
"True, I have been a bit of a bad host." Trio Leader walked up to the cage. "But you see, I've gotten what I wanted, so I can deliver you to where you need to go. But first, you need to sleep..."
The Zikor trailed off as she tapped the cage four times, closing her eyes each time. The four fell asleep instantly.
Olina woke up first. She looked around. She wasn't in a cage. She wasn't even inside a building. The hummingbird girl got up immediately. She looked to see her kin lying with her on the three steps to the orphanage. She woke up Carlos, then Aryn. She went over to Tomano. "Tomano! We are home!"
"Huh?" Tomano's eyes fluttered open.
"We are home! They dropped us at Rosen!"
"I can't tell, can you sit me up?" Carlos and Aryn helped Olina do what the eagle requested. "Hey, we are home. Olina, knock on the door."
Olina did so, and got a big hug from Mama Rosa. The big chicken looked at the others. "You are home!"
"Yes, we are home." Aryn said. "Whatever the kidnappers wanted, they got it. So they let us go."
"Tomano can't move enough yet." Olina said, helping Carlos pick up the eagle. "The bad guys enchanted him."
"With the same magic that lead us to the spot in the park." Aryn added, replacing Olina with herself so it was more even on each side. "We will tell you about it once we get Tomano to his room."
"That would be appreciated." Tomano said. He received a hug from Mama Rosa before getting brought up to the stairs by Xar and Brother Ronin. Mama Rosa looked out the front door. Her eyes scanned hard, to see if any of the kidnappers had stayed behind. But it looked like either they never were there, or left a while back. She closed the doors. A few centicycles later, Mayna came down the stairs, yawning.
"Good morning, Mama Rosa."
"It is a good morning." Mama Rosa agreed. "Now go tell that to Tomano."
"But...Tomano is-"
"Upstairs in his room. He was brought back a few centicycles ago." Mayna stared at her for a bit before rushing up the stairs to the eagles room. She ran and hugged the eagle boy.
"I missed you so much, Tomano!" Xar rolled his eyes and left the room, dragging Olina and Carlos with him. Aryn got the hint and left. Xar watched as they went down to tell Mama Rosa and the others what happened. Brother Ronin came out of the room.
"Okay, some has to be in there. Want it to be you?"
"Hey, you are the adult."
"You are their kin, especially to your roommate Tomano. And I know that even if you don't get your homework in on time, you can still be trusted. Plus it seems like you know what Mayna feels toward Tomano."
