Over the next few days, the last five gians bore the loss of their friend. They had no idea where he went, and they did try to find him. The test girl was moved to a new home, a stone gazebo. Shesa was there every moment she could spare. Theon visited her one day baring good news. However, when he saw her face, he got concerned.
"Hey, are you alright?" Shesa looked at him.
"Yes. At least." She took a breath. "I think I am. After Xime left, I guess I feel guilty in a way."
"There was nothing you could do." Theon reassured her, sitting down next to her.
"That's just it. I feel as if I could but at the same time..." She trailed off.
"You don't know what you could've done." He finished. Shesa nodded. He put a hand on her shoulder. She turned to look at him and got a surprise hug.
"Um...what are you doing?"
"Mesan thought of it. Aruki explained it to me. It helps you feel better."
"It...kind of does." Theon let go.
"Better?"
"Yeah. Hey, um." Shesa paused. "Thanks for listening to me."
"I highly doubt hiding one's emotions would end up well."
"But still. Thanks."
"You are welcome." Theon remembered what he came about. "Oh, hey. Mesan has an idea that he wants your help with. He didn't want me to spoil it or something, so he wouldn't say. He's back at the house."
Shesa and Theon left the gazebo and entered the gian house. Shesa called out to the stone gian. "Mesan! I'm here!"
The gian poked his head out from Shesa's entrance room (the room with the hole to the actual room.) He gestured for them to come to the room. Fyrca and Aruki were already there. Aruki had her hands out, as she was creating an air cushion for something that was floating in above the middle of the pond's opening. The thing looked like a small baby. Its feet were like flippers and it had no hair. On the each side of its face, there is a cut line. The skin was rough and had something the two gians had never seen before. The head was bald, and the back of its went into a rounded point. It had also had a long piece of skin hanging off its rear.
"What is it?" Shesa asked.
"It's a tadkit." Mesan explained. "She's like the test girl, but smaller and a bit hardier. I made scales and Aruki helped me make gills for her so she could breathe better. I thought if we tried to make life again, we can find out what might be wrong with Xime."
"And," Fyrca added. "if we figure out how to make life, then we can awaken the test girl. Hopefully that can restore whatever happened to Xime."
"Are you willing to try?" Aruki asked, hopefully.
"Seems like a good plan to me." Theon said. "It might work."
"I don't know." Shesa said. "After all, what if Xime comes back or finds out about it?He could, and probably would be, really mad about not being their when the first form of life we create is created."
"Please, Shesa." Fyrca begged. "On the off chance this works, Xime will be back to normal. And you know normal him; he is understanding."
"And there will be more life made. He can choose the design for the next one." Aruki added.
"I don't know." The others looked to her with pleading eyes. "Okay, fine."
"Yay!" Aruki smiled happily. Shesa got into the water and held the tadkit. Theon created a mind, using the same technique as before. The white light changed to black then grey. It flowed inside of the girl. Aruki gave her breath, but her began to get weaker as before. Fyrca warmed her up, but a little too fast. Shesa quickly dipped the tadkit into the water. Under the water, the tadkit began to breathe and something new happened.
The scales turned red. The fingers became webbed. And the eyes opened. They were yellow. The girl curled into the gian that was holding her. Shesa floated down to the bottom of the pool, cuddling the little girl.
"Hello, little one." She welcomed the new being, who looked at her expectantly. "Welcome to Giri."
