Earlier in the day, Beku sat in a restaurant in the mixed-chra city of Mixkun. At the other chairs of the white, circular, metal table was Aruki, Vina, Frosk, and Colan. He was being forced to try several foods so he could learn about part of the Phankes plains culture. Vina urged him to try the fish chips.

"Come on, I've tried it."

"That's because you don't care about what you eat."

"Please!" Vina made big eyes and did a pouty face. Colan looked away.

"If you don't do it for her, do it for me." Colan said. "I can't resist that face."

Vina looked at the color gian. Beku sighed. "Okay fine, I'll do it."

"Yey!" Vina clapped her hands as Beku took a small fish chip. The garden gian watched him expectantly. "WELL? What do you think?"

"I think." Beku took three chips. "That I like them."

"Yes!" Vina said. "I told you! I said you would!"

"Yes, yes." Beku said. "I know you did."

"How about you try some ice cream next?" Frosk asked. "That can be what we have for dessert?"

"Sure. Sounds good." Beku said. The group finished their chips and ordered their separate flavors of ice cream. Vina chose mint chocolate, Colan chose berry rainbow, and the other two minor gians chose vanilla.

"Hey, did you know that the berry rainbow flavor was actually inspired by the first rainbow?" Colan asked.

"No, really?" Frosk said. "I didn't know that."

"That's very interesting." Beku said. "Is it good?"

"I think it is." Colan answered. "After all, I get it every time I am at an ice cream store or restaurant."

"And he isn't joking." Vina said, laughing. They got their food and finished eating. While walking down the street to a nearby park for some fighting practice and so Vina could show him her powers, there was several screams. The minor gians rushed to their source.

Venia concentrated on the person she was 'working' on. She pulled him this way and that. She slammed him into a tree. She let him go on the ground. He was on hands and knees. He looked at her with fear. Venia raised his hand again.

"No, please." The man pleaded, his hands going up. Venia moved her head to one side.

"And why should I?"

"I...Because.." The man was so afraid he could not find the words to explain.

"I'm following orders." Venia said. "I need to make terror and pain here. It is not my fault you are caught in the middle."

"Please, I beg of you, take mercy on me." Venia giggled at the man's pleadings.

"I don't think you deserve chance." Venia told him. She focused his blood in his heart so that he did not have enough blood to go to his head or the other parts of his body. Once she was sure he was dead, she let go and his body slumped forward on the ground. She flipped her hair while she pivoted. She walked toward Daek, who held the blade of his scythe very close to a little girl's neck.

"Daek, just kill her already."

"Why? It's interesting to see the fear in the child's eyes."

"We need to find the minor gians so we can kill them." Venia answered. "That is the mission."

"Hey!" The two gians looked up and to the left. An eagle boy held an iron sword. To the little girl, he looked like an angel. To the gians, he looked like a pitiful enemy. "Let her be!"
