Theon took over Frosk's duty of watching over Fyki so the frost gian could have some time off. Theon entered the chamber and looked up at the frozen gian. Her arms were still up, blocking the beam that had already come. The mind gian paced around the large ice pillar in thought. After a while, he heard a noise behind him. Spinning around, he whipped out his wands, ready to bring harm to the intruder.
The intruder was someone he had not seen in a while. Theon spoke. "Zime, why are you here?"
"Is it not obvious?" Zime said, pulling out his sword. "But it seems I must kill you before releasing one of the assets I need."
"Is that all she is to you?" Theon asked. "An asset? She is the fire gian, the oldest of all of us!"
"True, she is."
"Why do you do this to us? To others? All you have done is create pain and fear for us!"
"Yes, it's lovely, isn't it?"
"No, it's not." Theon answered. "Since you two have been gone, I've had to step up and play leader. It's not an easy job and it's not something I want. You were even supposed to be the one of morality. How did I end up being the one of wisdom?"
"Wisdom. Not the term I would use."
"What term would you use then?"
"I don't know, maybe pathetic use of control." Zime said. He jumped into the air and tried to strike Theon with his sword. Theon rolled out of the way and ran a couple feet before shooting a beam created out of his two wands. The concentrated shot didn't connect. Zime had blocked it with his sword. "To be honest, I can see why they would choose you. One of mind, of knowledge. Also, they probably hope that the youngest will not be like the other two leaders who were older than them."
"Regardless why or how," Theon said, shooting at Zime with bolts of energy. "I ended up as leader. And they definitely trust me more then anything you have ever made."
"Speaking of which," Zime said, slashing at Theon. "I heard someone felt the taste of death recently. Someone named Frosna, if I remember correctly."
"So you did make a gian of death." Theon shot Zime's hand and used the energy bolt wrap around the sword. The mind gian threw it.
"It seems like I brought a sword to a wand fight." Zime conjured up a wand for himself. "That left me unprepared."
"I'm guessing you use your sword all the time."
"Yes, why?" Theon gestured to Fyki.
"You corrupted Fyrca. Only a truly experienced swordsman could ever beat her."
"Ah, so you figured it out." Zime said, shooting a bolt of grey energy at Theon. "Yes, I did corrupt Fyrca. She's now named Fyki and will obey me."
"Not if I can help it." Theon said. Zime created a huge ball of energy and put zetrian shards in it. He then threw it at Theon. Theon deflected it into the ceiling above him, unleashing many pieces of ice to crack and fall. A particularly large one hit him in the shoulder and pinned him down. Theon tried to wiggle his left hand and it didn't move. Zime stood over him, as the mind gian had no way to escape. Zime smiled at him and shook his head as he crouched down next to the gian. He used one foot to pin Theon's right arm down and he removed the wand from Theon's grasp.
"It seems you can't help her, Theon." Zime said. He traced one of his claw-like fingers on his free hand across the side of the younger gian's face. "And you will watch as I release her. After I do, you will feel my corruption from this." The evil gian waved his hand and a zetrian crystal formed in the air. "Do you know what it is? It's called zetrian and it can turn you into the opposite of yourself in a very painful way. And there is nothing you can do to stop it. You might as well accept your fate, Theon. It's the one you always were meant to have."
Zime stood up and laughed as he walked over to Fyki's resting body. He struck his hand into the ice, the crystal then touched the side of the tunnel he created. The ice cracked, but did not crumble.
"Stop!" Theon's right hand was free now, and he was able to get his wand back. He aimed his wand at the gian and Zime's shoulder for the arm that was inside got burned from the energy. Zime quickly healed himself and spun around. He glared at the gian. Suddenly, he heard voices far away. They both did. Zime bowed.
"It looks like I will have to take my leave." He said. "This is not over. I will come back."
As Zime disappeared in a puff of light grey smoke, the three other major gians showed up. Mesan used his strength to remove the large ice block pinning his shoulder down. Shesa helped him sit up as Theon regained some feeling in his left arm and hand. Shesa pulled back the sleeve of his tunic to look at his shoulder.
"Just some bruising, doesn't look like there is any permanent or severe damage." She said, pulling the sleeve down. "What happened?"
"Zime was here."
"What?" Aruki said. "What for?"
"He wanted to free Fyki." Theon explained. "I almost got him with my wands, but he was able to conjure up his own."
"Yo, kin." Mesan said. "Look."
In the ice, the body of the fire gian was still there. However, the zetrian wasn't here. In its place, the light grey crystals had covered and returned Fyki to her original Fyrca state. There was one exception, however. Her short coal-black hair stayed the same. Theon got up from the floor and put his hand on the ice. He looked at Shesa.
"Can you release her?"
"Hold on, Theon." Mesan said. "I know what you are thinking. But how do we know that it's Fyrca in there, and not Fyki?"
"Zime was trying to make her stronger." Theon started to explain. "I shot his shoulder and when he healed, it must've changed the zetrian that he was using."
"Zetrian, the corruption material." Aruki said. The others looked at her. "I was talking with Vina. She talked to Ziko when he was in prison. He knew what it was."
"Point is," Theon went on. "the zetrian was changed. Maybe while Zime healed, it turned into a substance that reversed the corruption process."
"That would make sense." Shesa agreed with the mind gian. "But remember, I can't control ice. So I probably can't free her."
"What about Frosk?" Mesan said. "He is the one of frost."
"He probably could." Theon said. "And speaking of the minor gians, where are they?"
"Major Gians!" Beku ran into the cave. He was almost out of breath. He paused and leaned over, putting his hands on his knees. He stood back up again. "The other minor gians need your help! They are slowly defeating Zime's gians. I had to come to tell you since you guys needed to go."
"We are coming." Theon hug back with Beku once the others were out.
"You can go, Gian of Mind." Beku said. "Don't worry, I got the situation here."
"Zime might come back." Theon objected. "I don't think you will be able to beat him."
"Don't worry, with you four helping the other gians, I think you will be back in time to help me if he does." Theon looked at the younger minor gian.
"Alright. But you will contact me the moment he gets here." Theon commanded.
"I will." Beku saluted him and Theon reluctantly left.
