My head bashed into the concrete and before I could do anything Aron was on top with his hands around my throat. I struggled to move his hands as the amount of air I could get into my lungs decreased, I glanced around seeing Riker fighting Will and Skylar struggled against both her mother and Ev. Ev dodged at her and struck her fist across Skylar's jaw, Sky fell to the ground holding her mouth. Her mother hovered over her ready to strike her once more. I couldn't let them hurt her, I somehow managed to force Aron's hands away from my neck and knee him in the balls. I pushed his large body off of me and jumped to my feet, I was very light headed but I stumbled over towards Skylar and grabbed a hold of Ev's shoulder. She turned and looked at me as I shoved her away from Skylar, Scarlet jumped on my back and tried to force me to the ground. I slightly chuckled and flipped her off my back. I quickly grabbed Skylar and helped her to her feet, She looked up into my eyes silently thanking me. I nodded and wrapped my arm around her waist, Scarlet ran to Aron and whispered something to him along with Ev who broke up Riker and Will. Riker ran over touched my shoulder.

"are you two alright?" he asked. Skylar nodded along with me. 

"yeah, we should get out of here." I quietly said as I glanced at Aron. His hands clenched into fists as he ran towards up. He was coming strait at Riker, I quickly pushed Rik out of the way and was tackled by the large, heavy man. Immediately his fists collided with my face, I heard Skylar's gasp as we hit the ground. 

"you fucker!" Aron yelled as he continued slamming his fists against my jaw. 

"Ross!" Skylar shouted, I opened my eyes to see her running towards us. 

"no." I managed to get out but she was already to close, Aron smirked at me before standing up and turning around slightly. I watched as his hand flew up and with rapid speed came down and slammed into Skylar's face. My eyes widened as I lunged off my feet and at the large man. I first kicked him square in the balls then slammed my knee into his face repeatedly. When he fell onto the ground I looked over to see Riker kneeling next to Skylar. She was laying on her back and her eyes were half shut, a large fist print was bright red against her left cheek. Riker looked up at me and I quickly made my way over to them. I looked up to find Scarlet, Ev, and Will gone... Aron stood up and glared at me then walked away, I quickly slid my arms under Skylar and gently picked her up. I quickly followed Rik into her apartment and carefully laid her down on the couch. She moaned and touched her face then squinted and moaned again.

"Skylar... are you okay?" I asked as I rested my hand on her hip bone. Her eyes fluttered open and she looked at me, I've been trying so hard to get my baby back, I've tried to protect her... It didn't quite work out how I planned for it too... obviously... but I tried, and I always will try. I won't ever give up. I will always protect her with my life. 

"y-yea." she stuttered. "Riker c-can you get me a drink of w-water?" she squealed, Riker nodded and disappeared out of the room. 

"b-Sky-"

"Ross... thank you for trying to protect me." She cut me off. I slightly smiled and tucked a piece of hair behind her ear. 

"anytime. I will always protect you Skylar... Always." She looked up into my eyes and sighed. "Skylar... I know maybe right now is not the best time... but can you please forgive me... I made a huge mistake... and I'm really sorry. i love you more than anything Skylar, I do. I honestly do." I told her, she groaned and grabbed her head. 

"let's not talk about this right now. My heads killing me." I nodded, Riker came out with a glass of water, two Tylenol, and an ice pack. I watched as Skylar took the Tylenol and gently pressed the ice pack to her cheek. She squinted slightly then relaxed. 

After about an hour Skylar had fallen asleep. I was thankful for this, she could rest for a while and not have to worry about anything. I sat on the couch beside Rik and sighed. 

"you okay?" Rik asked, I nodded and looked back at the angel sleeping on the couch beside me. 

"I-I just don't understand what she ever did to deserve all of this... everything that has happened to her... she never deserved any of it." I mumbled, Riker nodded and sighed. 

"you're right. She doesn't deserve any of this." Rik agreed then stood up. "are you okay here? Mom texted me and wants me to meet up with Rydel." I nodded. "alright then. be careful, if you need anything just call okay. see ya later bro." 

"See ya.later." I said just before the door shut. I got up and locked the door before laying on the empty couch and closing my eyes. Before I knew it I was asleep.

 Skylar's P.O.V. 

I woke up laying on my couch. My head was pounding still, I remember Riker saying something about leaving before I had fallen asleep.

 "you okay?" Rik asked Ross...

"I-I just don't understand what she ever did to deserve all of this... everything that has happened to her... she never deserved any of it." he mumbled, neither do I Ross... 

"you're right. She doesn't deserve any of this." Rik agreed with him. I heard him mumble something else before he said "Mom texted me and wants me to meet up with Rydel." Then I heard the door shut moments later. After that I completely dozed off. I sat up and ran my hand through my hair before deciding to stand up. I was glad I was all alone, now I could ponder all of this. It happened way to quickly for me to comprehend. When I stood up I wobbled a bit then stretched, I turned around and stopped dead in my tracks. Ross was asleep on my couch... I thought Riker and him left... I glanced to the clock by my stove seeing it was only three in the afternoon. I groaned and walked into my kitchen leaving my ex that I was still madly in love with asleep on my couch. I took some more ibuprofen then walked down into my room, I took a warm shower then changed into a pair of black yoga pants and a yellow tank. I threw on my blue and green plaid flannel then sat on my bed. I fell backwards making the bed slightly bounce, I looked up at my white ceiling and sighed. 

I began to replay everything that had happened only hours ago, I had saw Ross... Stood my ground, went to the grocery store... came back to find my mother, Ev, Will, and Aron face to face with me. But Ross and Riker were there, Ross wanted me to leave... he was trying to protect me. But I wouldn't leave without him... Aron tried hurting Ross... Will tried hurting Riker and My own mother and Ev ganged up on me... Ross seemed to help me, but Aron hurt him... I tried helping him but Aron punched me... The rest was a blur, I could only remember certain things like being carried up the stairs and into my apartment, Ross telling Riker how I don't deserve all of this. I also remember Ross trying to talk to me about that night he cheated... The night where Ross and I ended... 

"Skylar!" Ross' voice echoed around my small apartment making me jump. I sat up and debated on telling him I was in here or letting him find me... I didn't want him to find me. "Skylar!" he shouted again. "oh please, please be here... if anything happened to you... I swear..." his voice cracked with worry as he made his way down my hallway. I stood up and walked to my door way.

"Ross I'm right here. Don't worry." I said quietly, He looked at me relieve flooding his face. He jogged down the hall and wrapped his arms tight around me. 

"you scared me." he sighed into my hair. I needed to make up my mind... either to tell him to leave so I don't get hurt again... or let him stay and forgive him. I lifted my arms up and wrapped them around his neck hugging him back. I needed to see what it was like to be back in his arms, even if it's not the way I want it to be. His hands gripped my hips tighter as he pulled me closer to him, I felt all the worry disappear from my body, all the blood chilling memories fading within his grasp. I felt home in his arms, I knew now... I knew that nothing can keep us apart. Nothing can separate true love... With Ross, all I know is how to love him with all my heart. I can't keep myself away from him, It's not physically possible. I need him, I want him, I love him.
