   Y/N'S POV

Slowly, I made my way down the steps, wondering where James was. I haven't seen him since last night, but maybe he got called in to work on X-Men or something at the last minute. I had no idea, but I was sure that he was fine. He had to be fine.

Speaking of James, I received a text message from him reading:

  Hey, love,

Sorry, I wasn't there to wake up with you this morning, but I've thought about you ever since I woke up this morning. I have to take care of some things for work, but don't worry. I'll be back home before nightfall.

  Love,

  James or Your Charles.

I smiled as I replied to his message before I put my phone down. Then, I ran down the steps. However, I noticed one of the picture frames about to fall leading down the steps, which I did catch before it could fall.
I let out a sigh of relief, but the picture was of James and I during the premiere of X-Men: Apocalypse. I, honestly loved the movie, but it was different for me not seeing much of Hugh Jackman, Halle Berry, and the many other actors from the older X-Men films.

Anyway, I grabbed some chocolate out of the refrigerator, wondering whether I needed to make a trip to the store or not. I really should go to the store today, but I was just feeling really lazy at the moment.
If I went later on, then I would just get stuck in rush hour traffic. That was the reason I needed to stay at the house, though. Out of nowhere, the doorbell rang loudly into the house, which I could never get used to.

I held my ears as I opened the door. Instead of it being James, it was a woman. She appeared to be in her early 20s, but she had light blue eyes.

She sent me a warm smile, but she asked me,"Is my brother here?"

I looked at the woman confused until she said,"Does a man named James McAvoy live here? He's my brother. I'm Lily, his sister. You must be Y/N."

I shook Lily's hand; however, I had no idea that James even had a sister. I had met his parents before and his grandparents, just like he met my family, but never once did he mention having a sister.

Lily must have read my thoughs right now because she said,"I'm guessing that James never told you about me, did he? Typical James, but I promise you that if it is a problem, I can leave."

I shook my head, but I finally answered Lily's question by saying,"No, I'm sorry. It's just that James never told me he had a sister, but I believe you. Please come in and sit down. James isn't here right now, but he should be back in a few hours."

Lily walked inside before I closed the door behind her. Next, I went into the kitchen and offered Lily some water, since she looked like she had just run a marathon or something.
Lily thanked me before she accepted my offer. Being eternally grateful for someone having some manners in this world, I walked back into the kitchen and fixed Lily some water. Carefully, I carried the glass over to Lily, making sure that I didn't drop her water.

Then, I sat down beside her before I asked Lily,"So, what brought you here?"

Lily admitted to me,"I'm sure you know about what happened with my parents' divorce and all, so I just wanted to see how Charles, I mean, James was doing. Uhh, I do that every time!!"

I giggled before I said,"Someone who finally understands my pain. I do it too, so don't hurt yourself over that one. What do you do for a living, actually? Are you an actor, too, or are you not one for the camera and all?"

Lily looked me in the eyes as she answered,"Well, I like to draw and design things. I spend my time making designs for different companies and all. It's pretty fun to do when you're not tired."

I nodded in understanding as to what Lily was saying before I said to her,"Well, my name's Y/N, and I've been with your brother for 2 or 3 years now. We've had some moments where we wanted to just call it quits, but we always end up coming right back to each other. I'm still trying to figure out what I want to do with my life, though, but I don't want to depend on James all the time, you know?"

Lily put her hand over mine before she replied,"I know. I know that James is in the right hands, but you'll figure it out. Better to have some time to think about it now than do nothing later. I-"

Before Lily could say anything else, I heard James yell,"LOVE, I'M HOME!"

With that, I led Lily towards the front door. Then, I took Lily's hand before I sent her an encouraging smile as James came into view. When he saw me, he smiled before he noticed Lily. Lily stood beside me as she looked everywhere but at James.

However, James hugged her as he said to her,"It's great to see you, Lily! I've missed you."

Lily hugged James back as she said,"I missed you, too, James. Y/N's just like you described her to be."

James sent me wink before he said,"You just wait. She gets sweeter and sassier every single day."

Lily laughed, but I blushed before I cleared my throat. A few minutes later, James led Lily up the stairs to relax for a bit before he grabbed me and intertwined his fingers with mine.

So, I kissed all of his fingers before I said,"I just kissed your fingers, so I hope that you washed your hands today."

James rolled his eyes, yet he pecked my lips before he replied,"Of course, I did. Thank you for making my sister feel welcome, but I'm sorry I never told you about her. Love, I just... I don't want you to think that I'll keep things from you all the time."

I cupped his face as I said,"Trust me, I'm not mad. At first, I had questions, but I really enjoy having your sister around. At least she doesn't leave me here by myself."

James let out a long sigh, and I giggled, before I joined Lily upstairs.
