Hiccstrid/HTTYD one shots

The beginning

Description: Hiccstrid baby

Word count: 625

I nuzzle into hiccup's neck more. He pulls me closer as close as my stomach will allow. As I am 8 months pregnant it pretty hard.

"I want this child out. Ow." I rub my stomach gently as a pain shoots through.

Hiccup laughs and fiddles with the necklace he gave to me.

"I do to. I want to meet the kid who has been kicking me at night."

I giggle and another small pain shoots through my stomach. I notice hiccup is fighting to keep his eyes open.

"You know you can go to sleep." I say kissing his chin.

"Yeah. I love you. Goodnight." He rolls over.

"Rude. I love you too." I laugh and he rolls back over.

He wraps his arms around me and I turn so he can pull my closer. I stop fighting off sleep and slowly fall asleep feeling a small pain again.

My eyes snap open and I groan. Searing pains stab at my stomach. I clutch it tightly and I sit up. Hiccup is lying on his back snoring loudly. Another pain and I groan clutching it more tightly. I lean over the bed waiting to vomit or something. Something runs down my legs. Another pain causing me to cry out. Toothless looks up from his spot.

"Toothless get hiccup." I groan as another pain rips through me.

The night fury nudges my sleeping husband awake.

"Toothless what do you want?"

I scream in pain.

"Astrid! What's wrong? Are you hurt?" He flings off the blanket and hops over to my side.

"My water broke. They baby's coming." I manage to get out before more pain hits.

"Oh Thor. Toothless get my leg."

The dragon grabs the metal contraption and gives it to him. He quickly connects it to his stump.

"Okay we need to get you to Gothi's." He lifts me bridal style.

He places me onto toothless and puts his foot in the stirrup. The black dragon jumps out of the window and soars into the cool nigh air. I clutch my stomach and groan. We land on Gothi's balcony.

"Gothi!"

The old woman opens the door and has a questionable look on her face. I scream and double over. Her eyebrows shoot up. She beckons us inside. Hiccup lifts me up and carried me inside. He places me on the bed. Gothi scribbles frantically on the patch of dirt.

"She says you just have to push."

"I KNOW I HAVE TO PUSH!" I scream as another contraction hits.

I grip his hand and feel a crack. He yelps.

"OW!"

Gothi scribbles down something again.

"You mean I might have to put up with this for hours? OW! Astrid!"

10 hours later

"It's a girl." Valka says lifting the baby up.

"Thank Odin." I collapse back on my pillow.

Hiccup wipes my hair off my forehead. I sigh as my baby wails as Gothi and Valka clean her.

"You did amazing." Hiccup kisses my forehead.

"Here you go." Valka hands me my little girl.

"We'll give you pair some privacy." They walk out.

"Hey little girl." Hiccup coos.

Her head pokes out of her yak skin blanket. Small amounts of auburn hair are on her head and curious bluey green eyes watch us.

"What's her name?" Hiccup asks.

"Nelly. Nelly Haddock." I stare down at my firstborn child.

"Hey Nelly. I'm your dad." He says.

She whimpers as Toothless pushes Hiccup out of the way to look. His green eyes taking in her.

"And that's Toothless." Hiccup sighs from his place on the floor.

Nelly reaches out her small hand and places it on the dragon's snout. He huffs and nuzzles into her.

"He's going to be so protective of her." I say.

"Yep."
