I run through the trees and they scrape my face. One branch snaps and scratches my cheek. Blood trickles down my face. I keep running with the bag and grabbed from the conucopia. I keep running my leg burning. Also the wound in my arm from the big brute from 7. I hear someone else and pick up the speed. I wipe the swear off my forehead and push my fringe from my eyes. I could be a home swimming with Astrid but of course I had to be reaped. I stop and find myself waist deep in water. Perfect my element. I swim over to a rock and start unpacking. A two litre water bottle, string, a knife and a packet of crackers. I grab a stick and fix the string around it. I quickly fashion a hook out of a small bone.

"Thank you Mags." I whisper.

I run from the district 8 girl. Her spear is raised about her head. I knew I should have just stayed at the river. Suddenly a arrow hits her in the side of the head. She drops to the ground. The wild red haired from 5.

"Run or I'll shoot ye'." She hisses.

I sprint away my leg burning. I've gotta stay alive for Astrid. Final 8 I can do this. I pump my arms and leg faster to reach the river. The cannon fires twice. Twice? Someone else must of been killed. I refill my water bottle and swim over to my cave. Blood drips from my head as the 8 girl threw her knife. I grab the bandages I was sent and wrap it around my head. I take sips from drink and breathe. 5 to go before someone is crowned winner.

This is it. The final battle. Who goes home and who dies. It's just me a the boy from 1. He rolls his neck and readjusts his sword in his hand.

"Never thought a boy as small as you would get here." He growls.

"Sometimes it takes wit instead of strength." I say picking up my axe.

"Shame strength is going to win this year." He swings down his sword.

I dodge and kick the back of his knee. He stumbles but recovers. He yells and swings again. It nicks my arm. I hiss in pain and start running. I can outsmart him hopefully. I run towards the water. He follows and I dive in. He crashes through the water and I swim away.

"Should have know the fishbone would retreat." He laughs and swings his sword at my legs.

He hits the left one and I laugh.

"Metal leg!" I dive under.

I knock his legs with my axe. A gash opens and blood flows open. I hear his scream and he kicks me in the nose. I swim up holding my nose. He roars and comes wading after me. I start swimming away.

"Get back you wimp!" He screams.

I slow and turn around. The current is picking up and I know there's a waterfall.

"So he finally gives up? Sick of almost dying and just wants to?" He laughs.

"Not yet." I swing a kick with my metal leg.

It knocks his injured leg and he falls. The current washes him away. He grabs onto my leg.

"You're coming with me brat!"

I try to kick away but we swiftly are being pulled.

"I'm sorry." I say and pull out my axe.

With one stroke I smack his head. Blood pours from the wound and I know he won't survive. The cannon fires and his hand goes limp. I kick away and get to the bank. The trumpets blare.

"Ladies and Gentlemen! The winner of the 68th hunger games! Hiccup Haddock!" The roar of the Capitol comes through the speakers.

The hover craft appears and lifts me out. I finally get to go home.

I arrive home and as soon as I fight past the crowd Astrid tackles me in a hug.

"Hiccup your alive." She says into my neck.

"I can't believe I'm alive however." I say into her neck.

My dad picks us both up in a hug.

"Son I can't believe it." He laughs.

I feel about 5 ribs cracks but smile. I never thought I'd get another bone crushing hug. He puts us down.

"I love you." Astrid kisses me.

"I love you too." I kiss her.
