-Couple of weeks back-
As the sun brighten up, young girl slowly started opening her eyes. Her long, dark brown hair was scattered all around her face, stopping her from seeing anything around her. Her light blue eyes were still half closed, opening a little just to check the time. As she moved hair away from her face, she looked at the clock on her phone. It showed 9am which meant she had to get up and start getting ready, knowing she'll have to be downstairs to eat breakfast with her mum. That was their Sunday family tradition, they were doing it for good couple of years right now.
When she finished tidying her room and sorting herself to look at least half appropriate, she came downstairs smelling aroma of fresh cooked oats. She sat down by the table and started talking with her mum while slowly consuming her breakfast.
"So sweetie, what are your plans for the rest of the summer holiday? I remember you wanted to start a job so you can write it in your personal statement" her mum giggled a little.
"Mum, it's not funny, I have nothing to write there. I have no experience, no hobbies, nothing" Annabelle moaned, remembering how boring type of a person she was. "To be honest, it's not the worst idea, I already had fun in overseas this summer so now I can spend some weeks working. I'll get experience, something to write for my personal statement and money. Ideal" she replied smiling at the prospect of spending all her money at the shopping centre right before school.
She couldn't believe it was already 15th of July. The first couple of weeks flew like crazy, probably because she spent most of it just going out with her close friends. Now, she could feel goose-flesh attacking her body at the thought of coming back to college. She had only one month to sort her life out, but being 17 years old like she was, fun had to be one of the aspects otherwise it would be all boring.
After the meal, she went back upstairs to her room and sat on her bed. Her eyes automatically looked at the diary she had for years now, so she leaned forward to get it. Diaries seemed to be really childish and she knew that but she couldn't stop using it. This was the best way to reveal all of her emotions, whether she was angry, sad or happy. The memories of her laying in her bed with tears in her eyes and diary in her hand flashed in front of her mind. At least, she had safety way of dealing with her feelings, other people usually just punch the walls or throw things around.Getting lost in her memories, she opened up the diary and started writing again. She wasn't sure about her future, she didn't feel as happy as she thought she should. There she was, being in one of the best colleges, taking advanced subjects with couple of smaller additional activities. She had good grades, couple of close friends but that's about it. No additional hobbies. No risk. No fun. She knew that this summer is the best chance to change it, new school year will mostly be her getting ready for exams.
She put back her diary and took out her laptop with motivation to change her life and be happier. Because we don't need to wait couple of years for the happiness to come, we can change our lives and become better in this exact moment, right?
Before she decided to do a serious research, she quickly went on her social medias. Her twitter notifications were going crazy which meant Roadtrip had to be quite active today. She became their fan only a couple of months ago, but she fell in love with them instantly. Watching their vlogs always made her happier, boys had everything she lacked - confidence, fun and no idea of what the next day will bring. Seeing them doing all the crazy stuff, motivated her to be more self-confident.
After spending good 15 minutes on twitter, she moved to Snapchat where one of the stories quickly caught her attention. Blair - Roadtrips' manager, posted a photo with a website link and no explanations whatsoever. Curious of what it can be, she clicked on it and watched her screen changing. It was a post explaining that Blair was looking for a trial manager of Roadtrip. She smiled as a crazy idea came into her mind. She quickly read the information and found no signs of not accepting young girls with no experience, no skills and no confidence. She was aware that no one normal would put those kinds of information in as they were probably expecting people to have some realistic common sense, but the thought of actually applying for something like this was so crazy, she couldn't stop thinking about it. It sounded stupid but why not? She spent the last 20 minutes thinking about something that may get her experience, money and be fun at the same time. This was just perfect. Meeting boys, living their life and maybe even being their manager after a good trial was so unbelievably pleasing, she couldn't stop smiling. She will try, she had nothing to lose anyway.
So, she started typing...
