Diana's POV

I wake up a few hours later to a text from Valeria.

V-where are you😥

D-I'm at my house
D-Didn't feel good

V-I'm on my way

Valeria knows I used to cut but she thinks I stopped. I pull my sleeve down and walk down to wait for Valeria.

The doorbell rings and I open it. Valeria walks in and hugs me.

"Don't ever scare me like that!" she says to me. Since she's my only friend she is really protective.

"Alright! I'm sorry." We go to my living room and spend the afternoon watching Netflix.

Skip To Next Morning

V- looks like there's a new girl
D- WDYM?
V- there was a family moving in last night
V-they have a daughter
V-our age I think
D- oh
V- yeah see you in 10

I get up and choose a white t-shirt dress and black cardigan. Once I slip on my adidas superstars, I head out the door to the bus stop.

Surprisingly, I'm there before Valeria. A girl I've never seen before walks up to me.
"Hi!" she says to me.

"Hi." I answer back.
"I'm Sophia. I just move in down the street."
"Oh cool. I'm Diana." I say.

It's strange to have someone other than Valeria talk to me.
"I love your outfit!" she says. This took me by surprise. I'm not used to any kind of compliments.

"Thanks! Yours is cute too!" She's wearing some black ripped jeans, a black t-shirt and some Adidas sneakers. It's simple but still super cute.

"Hey girl!" says Valeria walking towards me. She sees Sophia right after she says that.

"Oh hi! I'm Valeria!" she introduces herself.
"Sophia." says Sophia to Valeria. They talk for a bit and then Valeria looks at me.

"Daniel wants me to sit with him again today...just because." She says. She hates leaving me alone. I hate getting in the way of her and Daniel though.

"Don't worry about it." I say, then turn to Sophia.
"Wanna sit together?" I ask her. I should warn her but I want to to see if a friendship could work with her. Sophia doesn't know about my outcast status. Maybe I can have another friend.

"Yea! Sure! That'd be great actually." she says.
"Sorry I'm sitting with Sophia. Looks like you're going to have to sit with Daniel." I say to Valeria.
"Okay. Okay" she says.

The bus pulls up and we pile on. Valeria takes the empty seat next to Daniel and I walk to the back. As I pass Jonah he starts throwing spitballs at me. I rush past him and take my seat in the back. Sophia follows.

"What was that about?" asks Sophia confused. I guess I need to come clean.
"Well umm... I'm kinda...the school outcast. I get bullied a bit." I say. Well now she knows and will never talk to me again.

"Why?" she asks.
"I don't know. I get it if you don't want to talk to me anymore though."
"But I do want to. You're really nice. Screw what other people think!" she says. I smile. I actually have another friend.

"Well, you won't be the only new kid befriending me. My cousins first day is today too." I say.
"Really? Cool! I can't wait to meet her!"

We get to the school. Sophia heads to the office and says she will meet me at my locker.

I walk to my locker and see the boys there.

"Guys it's the ugly hag!" shouts Jonah when he sees me. The boys laugh at his remark. Jonah then reaches for my hair and pulls on it. I
gasp at the pain.

My ear is now close to Jonah's face.

He whispers,"Why do to keep coming back? No one cares about you. You're a stupid bitch." Tears escape my eyes.

"Hey guys look! She's crying!" points out Zach. The boys gather around and start kicking me.

"HEY!" I hear a voice yell. It's Sophia. She pushes her way to me and helps me up.

"Leave her alone!" she yells at them and pulls me into the girls bathroom.

"Everything will be okay." She says and hugs me. The bell rings but we just stay in the bathroom.
