It's a Secret
The next day, Lucy woke up at 7:33. The girls were taking the day off school because of the traumatic experience of last night. She rolled out of bed, and got dressed in a yellow tank top, black shrug, and black skinny jeans. She was scheduled to meet the other girls at Ria's for smoothies at 9:15. She ran a comb through her oily, tangled hair. In the haste of last night, the police had finished searching at one in the morning, and she had gone into the guest room for the night. Not that she had been able to sleep. The only evidence the police found was the broken window, and a few pieces of knocked down furniture. And they didn't have any leads either, no fingerprints, no strands of hair, nothing. Not a single strand of DNA. The house was quiet, with her parents at work, and Cody at school. Aria taught English to immigrant children and was a part time artist. Noel coached lacrosse at the YMCA. She slipped on a pair of black flats, grabbed her purse, and slipped our the front door.
By the time Lucy got to Ria's, Troian and Sasha were already there, sipping their smoothies. Lucy went up, and ordered a berry mountain blast. Than, she went back to the table where Troian and Sasha were sitting at.
"What the hell happened last night?" Troian asked, after taking a sip of her mango tango smoothie.
"Yeah, who could have gotten away without leaving any traces of DNA?"
Lucy added.
Sasha sipped her coconut smoothie and didn't say anything. The door opened, and Shay walked up. She ordered a strawberry smoothie, and say down next to Sasha. Finally, Ashley stepped in, and sat down next to them. Her blonde hair was frizzy, and she had huge, heavy dark circles under her eyes. "I don't have much time," she said. "I have an appointment at The Water Lily Spa at ten.
"So," Sasha started. "What even happened last night?"
"Well, someone obviously broke in," Shay started.
"And it was probably A," Lucy finished.
But to her surprise, Ashley shook her head. "Not necessarily. We don't have any proof that it actually was."
"True," Sasha reasoned. "But I think it's safe to say that it is the same person. Or at least someone working with them, that is."
"Yeah, but why?" Troian wondered. "What did we ever do?"
"You know, I've been thinking," Shay said. "Sometimes people, complete strangers, torture other people just for fun."
Lucy shook her head. "I don't think this is just anyone. After all, they've known our secrets since eighth grade."
"But why would they keep quiet for all these years?" Ashley reasoned.
"Maybe they're planning something big," Sasha warned.
"Maybe we should tell our moms," Shay suggested. "They'll know what to do."
Ping! Beep beep! Bzz! Duh duh! Dun dun dun! All their phones went off. Lucy picked up her phone, and read the text.
Don't you dare tell your moms! If you do, I'll kill one of you. And, you should never underestimate the power of A. After all, I'm capable of anything- A
"Oh my gosh," Ashley whispered. "This means A is here, watching us this very second."
