The next afternoon, Shay and Ashley entered the Prada Outlet in the Devon Crest Mall. Shay immediately went over to the handbags, and started looking at all the colors and designs. Ashley started looking at their knit sweaters and cable tights. After a few minutes, Ashley walked over to Shay. "I'm bored. Let's go somewhere else."

They exited the store and entered the crowded hall. Shoppers passed by carrying bags from Burberry, Jimmy Choo, and Otter. Behind an old, rich woman stood a boy. And not just any boy. A hot boy. Shay's insides turned, and she felt thirsty. She hadn't felt this way in a long time. Too long. She looked at him again. He seemed to be coming in their direction. Shay felt her heart speed up. What was she going to do? He stopped right in front of Ashley and Shay. "Hey hotties," he says, flipping his bangs out of his eyes.

Shay blushed.

"Um, hi," Ashley said.

"Did y'all see an Australian blond guy 'bout seventeen?" he asked.

Hot southern accent, Shay thought.

"Uh, no, I don't think so," Ashley mumbled.

"Oh, thanks," he said. "By the way, my name's Will. Who are y'all?"

"Oh, I'm Ashley," Ashley said.

"And I'm Shay." Her heart was beating so fast, she was sure it was going to explode.

"Oh, Shay, that's a cute name," Will said, smiling flirtatiously.

"Oh, um, thanks," Shay said, feeling flattered. And than she said the first thing that came to her mind. "I like your shoes."

Will looked down at his best up converses. "Can't say these are the best," he said, shaking his head.

Shay turned bright red. Had she just blown her chance?

Will looked out at the mall. "Well, I've gotta go now," he said, and then walked away.

When he was gone, Shay turned to Ashley. "Did I just blow it?"

Ashley nodded. "You like him, don't you."

"I just can't help it," Shay replied dreamily. "He's just so... hot."

Ashley wrinkled her nose. "Not my type."

After shopping for a little longer, Shay and Ashley exited the mall. But Shay still had a perfect picture of Will etched into her mind. She smiled to herself, and couldn't but do a little dance inside. She was finally in love. Well, okay, so it was only a small crush. But soon, Shay thought, it will turn into something more.
