The New Girl

Ashley carried a soy latte with Splendas into Rosewood High. Her strapless dress went just below her thighs, and it skimmed her hips. She sauntered over to Jess, Tiffany, and Gabby.

"So, I heard there's a new girl," Gabby said after taking a sip of her Jasmine Tea.

"What's her name?" Ashley asked.

"I don't know," Gabby replied. "I think it's like Sabrina, or something."

"Is she cool, or a loser?" asked Jess, clicking her pen with her thumbnail.

Gabby shrugged. "I haven't seen her yet. I just heard a rumor."

The four of them walked to the art wing, where all of their lockers were located. Ashley twisted the dial of her combination lock. She grabbed her science notebook, and a paper mate mechanical pencil. Then she walked to room 115, where her chemistry class was. There was a blonde girl talking to the teacher, her back facing Ashley. That must be the new girl. Ashley walked to her lab table in the back of the room. Her lab partner, Mareona, had been out for a week, sick with the flu. Ashley set down gold Dior bag on the vacant stool next to her.

The bell rang, and more students shuffled in. The teacher still remained talking to the blonde girl. Finally, she turned around. Ashley looked at her closely, studying her features. She looked familiar from somewhere. But where?

"Class, this is Sasha," Mr. Livingston, the chem teacher boomed.

Of course. Realization washed over Ashley. She was Sasha DiLaurentis, Alison's daughter. Ashley had only met her once. A few years ago she'd been going to Rosewood Day, the private school near Rosewood High. Last year, Sasha had gone to some boarding school in New Jersey, though.

Sasha walked up to Ashley's lab table. "Mind if I sit here?" she asked, looking at Ashley's purse.

"Sure," Ashley said, moving it to the lab table in front of her. Sasha was most definitely not a loser. Her hair shined like she'd just had a blowout. Her makeup was perfect, almost like it was done by professionals. Her skin glowed, and she had a healthy pink flush in her cheeks. Her blue eyes were wide and round. She had a heart shaped face, and bow lips. She wore a grey Diane Von Furtsenburg wrap dress, and heels.

"So," Sasha leaned in toward Ashley. "I was thinking about starting a new clique, it would be the most popular clique in the school. What do you say?"

Ashley frowned. "I don't know." After all, she already was popular.

Sasha put her hands on her hips, and smirked at her. "Unless your not cool enough..."

Who did this girl think she was? "First you have to prove you're cool," Ashley said.

"Easy," Sasha twirled a strand of blonde hair around her left pointer finger. "You won't be disappointed." Then, she turned around to face front, as if nothing had happened.
