A Little Sneak Peek
Lucy glanced down at her phone screen. That A text was haunting. She had considered telling Aria, but after A's last note she wasn't slipping anything. This could be the difference between life and death. Lucy tried to sketch; the one thing that could get her mind off of A. First she drew a goth chic outfit. It featured a dark purple corset, ripped black tights, a black tutu type skirt, a skeleton chocker, and black boots. She flipped her page, and planned to draw a floral print dress, but her mind wandered to A. She thought about both of the notes she'd received. A could be anyone at Ria's when they were, but it was all old ladies and stuffy middle aged men. Everyone else was in school or work. And how would they have snapped a photo from ninth grade? This person would have to have hated Lucy for a long time. But, who? Until Sasha, people just seemed to look right through her. No one particularly cared about her life.
Lucy looked down at her sketchpad, and saw she had traced the letter A over and over again. Lucy stared down hopelessly at the paper. Now A had even taken over her sketching.
She gloomily glanced out the window, and saw Kristen walking by. She appeared to be talking to someone on her cell phone. Lucy creeped closer to the open window.
"We'll get them!" Kristen screamed to the person on the other line.
There was a pause.
"And we'll make those bitches pay. We'll get revenge, and teach them a lesson."
There was another pause, this one longer.
"That was such a great idea," Kristen cackled. "We, like, totally scared them to death. They won't be messing with us anytime soon."
Lucy gulped. It sounded a lot like Kristen was A.
Kristen pushed a button on her phone, and dropped it into her purse. Then, she walked off.
Lucy moved away from the window. She would definitely have to tell the others. Now, Kristen was her number one suspect.
