The Truth Comes Out

Lucy rolled up her yoga mat, and stuffed it into her bag she'd bought at an art sale in Germany. The bag was decorated with pretty patterns of gold beads, with red flowers painted on it. She left the studio and went out to her car. To her surprise, Aria was there, in the drivers seat. Lucy tapped on the window and Aria rolled it down. "What's going on?" she demanded.

Aria sighed. "There's a secret I've been keeping from you. After that break in, me, Spencer, Hanna, and Emily have decided to tell you guys. The other girls already know."

"Know what?" Lucy wondered.

Aria sighed. "Get in. We'll talk at a coffee shop."

Twenty minutes later, Aria and Lucy sat down at a Starbucks in Philly. They both sipped iced lattes.

"So, what's this big secret?" Lucy finally asked.

Aria fiddled with her straw. "Well, I'm sure you know about all that A drama I had to go through."

Lucy nodded. This was old news.

"Well, when I told you Mona was locked up, I lied," Aria answered.

"Wait, than what happened?" Lucy asked.

"She slipped off the edge of a quarry and broke her neck," Aria said, ripping a napkin into shreds. "The real people who killed Ian, Graham, and Kyla were Nick and Courtney. Courtney's Alison's psycho twin sister."

Something didn't add up right. "Wait, but then who died the night of your end-of-seventh-grade sleepover?" Lucy asked.

Aria sighed. "They don't know. Her body was too decomposed to tell for sure. Everyone just assumed it was Ali. And now it's too late to tell for sure."

Lucy sighed. "Did Courtney die?"

Aria nodded. "Mm-hm, in fact, she got the death penalty."

Whoa," Lucy commented. "Harsh."

Aria nodded. "I know. But she totally deserved it. She totally did."
