We had never had so much workload as we did now. Professor Macgonagall said, "You are now entering a crucial part of your education! Your Ordinary Wizarding Levels are-"
"-like a whole year and more away." I finished.
"Even so, you are to prepare. Miss Granger remains the only person in this class who can turn a hedgehog into a satisfactory pincushion. You Miss Black turned your hedgehog into a pin. Although that is very very, impressive I asked for a pincushion. You need to follow instructions." said MacGonagall and I giggled. I had been having fun with it.
Professor Trelawney assigned us to predict the next two months using the stars. I didn't like how my future looked to be honest. Binns had us researching about Goblin rebellions, I mean seriously who cares about goblins? Flitwick wanted us to read on Summoning charms and personally I prefer to just do the spell and leave the reading to people like Hermione. We were making antidotes in Potions and although I knew that I was making no mistakes, I didn't take chances as Snape had said he would poison someone to see if their antidote worked.
Even Hagrid added to our workload by saying we should come check on the Skrewts in the evenings. Which by the way were growing at an alarming rate. "Is this guy alright in the head?" asked Blaise as we went back into the castle.
"Give him a break. I don't know why you Slytherins hate Hagrid so much. He's really nice." I said
"He's a halfbreed!" said Blaise as if that explained everything.
"So is my uncle." I said picking up the pace.
"No. I didn't mean-" started Blaise.
"You hate half-breeds. I get it." I walked away.
I found a commotion at the Entrance Hall. I spotted Harry. Ron and Hermione and went over to them. "Hey guys what's going on?" I asked.
"The delegations from Beauxbatons and Dumstrang are coming on Friday." said Hermione.
"Best thing is, we wont have double Portions." said Harry.
"Excellent. Snape can't poison us anymore. Between the two of us, I'm sure he was gonna poison you or me." I said smiling.
"That is no secret." said Harry and we both burst out laughing. Ron and Hermione looked lost.
"Only a week away. I wonder if Cedric knows? I'll go tell him." said Ernie Macmillan close by.
"Cedric?" said Ron blankly.
"Diggory. He must be entering the tournament." said Harry
"That idiot, Hogwarts champion?" asked Ron.
"He's not an idiot Ronald. You just don't like him because he beat Gryffindor at Quidditch." I said defending him. Harry raised his eyebrows.
"I heard he's a good student. And he's a prefect." said Hermione as if that settled the matter.
"You only like him because he is handsome." said Ron.
"Definitely." I said
"I do not just like people because they are handsome." said Hermione.
"Lockhart." said Ron
"Gilderoy Lockhart? He was a looker but way too old for me. Why do the good ones have to be unobtainable?" I said.
On the thirtieth of October, I sat with Fred and George.
"Guys come on! You can talk to him tonight. I'm sure it was a mistake." I said.
"If it was, Bagman would be talking to us. We need the money Miley." said Fred
"I can lend you the money. Consider it an investment." I said.
"No. We'll send the letter." said Fred.
"Its a bummer alright.. If he won't talk to us, we'll stuff it into his hand. He can't avoid us forever." said George.
"Who's avoiding you?" said Ron arriving.
"Wish you would." said Fred
"What's a bummer?"
"Having a nosy git like you for a brother." said George.
I left them to talk.
That afternoon we assembled outside to wait for our guests. I was busy teasing Ginny. "We'll find you a guy. How do you like them? Skinny, dark hair, green eyes?" I said.
"You just described Harry." said Ginny.
"It's how I like them." I grinned.
"How about tall, dark hair, hazel eyes." she asked.
"You forgot arrogant, half-breed hating, proud-" I started
"You and Zabini fought. I get it, we both know you will make up." she said just as the powder blue Beauxbatons carriage landed being driven by huge horses. A woman as large as Hagrid stepped out followed by her students who looked like total snobs. The woman greeted Dumbledore and went inside the castle.
"If only he wasn't a Slytherin." I sighed looking into the distance. I'm sure Ginny rolled her eyes.
"Slytherin or not, you really like him." she said. We watched the submarine rising to the surface of the lake. It looked like a shipwreck but beautiful in an outdated kind of way.
A man stepped out followed by his students. The man was familiar to me just like Moody had been. It went beyond his face like we had been involved in...something together but I didn't know what. He also greeted Dumbledore taking one of his students by the arm.
"Tell me I'm dreaming." I hissed to Ginny
"Viktor Krum is really here." she said.
I almost screamed. "I'm getting his autograph." I said but Ginny pulled me back.
"All those girls want it. Relax. You have the whole year to get his autograph." she said pointing to a bevy of girls running after Krum. I sighed.
