It was the night of the pep rally, cheerleaders could be seen dancing to the beat of the marching band's music.
Almost the whole town was there, most coming in memory of my twin. I stood with the Cheryl, as I watched Archie walk over to Jughead. I continued smiling, although I was truly feeling unease at the sight. I knew about Archie and Miss Grundy, they were probably talking about it. That was, until, I saw Jughead break a smile as he began to laugh lightly. I relaxed instantly.
I found my gaze trailing over the crowd as Mayor McCoy took the microphone and began to speak as she stood on the stage."It is heartening to see so many of you here, even in weather like this," MyCoy said, gesturing to her umbrella, "but a lack of heart and school spirit has never been the Riverdale way!"
I looked at Cheryl to see that she was looking at me too. She held me hand and smiled at me, an attempt to comfort me. I smiled back, even though the smile meant nothing. Jason was gone, and here I was standing with Cheryl. I knew that was what JJ would have wanted but still it felt wrong.
I looked at the crowd and spotted Jughead. He was looking at me, when he saw I was looking too he smiled.
A warm, comforting smile. Assuring everything will be okay. The best kind of smile.
"Tonight's pep rally isn't like any other we've held in the past, and we shouldn't pretend that it is," Mayor McCoy continued, "Which is why I'd like to dedicate this evening to the memory of one of our brightest, Jason Blossom."
"We're with him tonight," said the Mayor, "Now please! Join me in welcoming to the field our very own River Vixens, and their special guest starts, my daughter, Josie and her Pussycats!"
Cheryl and the River Vixens started their show as Josie and the Pussycats started singing. I didn't pay attention to them. I walked over to Jughead.
"How are you?" he asked.
"Fine." I lied. He looked at me, I knew he didn't believe me but he didn't wanted to push me any further.
Cheryl then joined Josie and the Pussycats on the stage, singing along with them. As the song came to a close, the RiverVixens began jumping, shaking the yellow pom-poms in their hand as the crowd cheered. Josie smiled as Cheryl hugged her.
The coach came onto the stage, speaking loudly into the microphone, "Let's make some noise for the Riverdale Bulldogs!!"
The football team ran out across the field, Archie leading them. Everyone was clapping, including me, as the players made their way.
Then I saw it. Jason running down the field, of course it was not Jason. It was Archie. The sudden realization of that I looked at Cheryl. Tears streaming down her face, she ran off.
She also saw what I saw.
She also saw Jason.
She also saw the broken promises.
I ran after her and I saw Betty and Veronica come after me.
When I entered the locker room, I saw Cheryl sobbing on one of the benches. Veronica and I shared a sad look as we sat down next to her.
"Jason..." Cheryl said sadly, tears running down her face, "He's gone..."
"I know.. I know he is.." Veronica said.
I was crying too, again. After the incident I was crying a lot. As long as I can remember, I didn't used to cry that much. Jason was gone and I knew some parts of me were gone with him.
"No, you don't," Cheryl said, shaking her head, "You don't understand."And then, so quietly she continued talking. "He was supposed to come back."
"I know." I whispered. "He promised."

~JUGHEAD'S POV~
"Hey, Blossom." I said Rose as I walked into Biology. She smiled. It was a little after eleven am in the small town, and the teens of Riverdale were at school. Rose was sitting with Cheryl. Everything seemed to be normal, everything felt as it typically did.
Until the Sheriff and Principal entered the classroom, that is. "You're here for us, aren't you?" said Cheryl as she and Rose stood up from their seats, gathering the attention of the classroom, "Because of the autopsy."
"We don't need to do this in front of your classmates, girls," Principal Weatherbee said in a quiet tone.
"It's all right, Principal Weatherbee," Rose said calmly, as though nothing was amiss.
"They'll find out soon enough." said Cheryl. She and Rose put their arms out, ready to be taken away.
"That won't be necessary," Sheriff Keller told them, as he didn't feel the need to handcuff the girls.
"Wait, Cheryl, find out about what?" asked Veronica.
"That we're guilty," Cheryl told the classroom. It was wrong. It was Rose. Rose wouldn't kill Jason. Rose had always loved him. Why would she cry about her twin's death if she..? It was wrong, some kind of misunderstanding.

I looked at Rose, hoping that she will deny. She looked at me and then focused her eyes to the ground. She was afraid to look at me face, she couldn't even deny it. But still I couldn't believe she would do something like that.
Cheryl and Rose was escorted out of the classroom, and taken into the Principal's office, and the students of Riverdale High would soon find out that Jason had not died on the 4th of July, but rather several days later...
