THE WEDDING

As I was walking the aisle, I can feel tears flowing down my cheeks.

For other women, this may be the happiest moment of their lives but for me it’s the total opposite.

Getting tied forever with the one you don’t love at all is like jumping off the eleventh floor and ended up alive.

Andito na to, wala nang atrasan.

I was thinking last night, that Paulo will do something to prove his love for me, like itatakas niya ako, or kikidnapin niya si Drew para hindi matuloy ang kasal, pero wala naman siyang ginawa eh, siyempre umasa pa rin ako na kami talaga ang magkakatuluyan at ikakasal ngayon, pero siguro hanggang pangarap na lang ang lahat.

Eventually I could learn to love Drew, not as much as he loves me but I will try.

Hindi ko naiintindihan kung ano ang wedding anthem na kinkanta, I don’t bother to listen to it, I’m not even giving the spectators a glimpse, hindi ko naman sila kilala, oo spectators talaga, kasi parang show lang naman to eh.

Then I saw Drew…and beside him is Paulo.

Labdub labdub labdub.

Ang bilis ng heartbeat ko, mas lalong bumilis ang patak ng luha ko, bakit andito siya.

He is torturing me, kaya niya pala akong panoorin na ikakasal sa iba?

I don’t want him to witness my agony, ang sarap sumigaw ng:

“Hoy!! Bakit ka nandito?? Hindi ka invited, lumayas ka!!”

Paulo, bakit mo ba ginagawa to?? Please umalis ka na, mas nadagdagan ang sakit na nararamdaman ko dahil sa presence niya.

Then I saw my mother, she is crying.

Is she feeling the way I am? Malungkot din ba siya o Masaya?

Then I took the glimpse of my father, he is smiling. I can sense how happy he is… nagtagumpay na kasi siya sa plano niya, without thinking about the happiness of her own daughter.

Then we reached the “final destination” … My dad handed me to Drew pero nagulat ako sa sumunod na nangyari…

Paulo and Drew switched places, instead na si Drew ang tumanggap ng kamay ko iba ang nangyari… naguluhan ako? What is happening?

“Princess,I know ito magpapasaya sa’yo…you deserve to be happy,” Drew said.

Then tiningnan ko si Daddy,

“Mas mahalaga kaligayahan mo kesa sa negosyo, I love you hija… Paulo ingatan mo unica hija ko,”

“Makakaasa po kayo, sir” sagot ni Paulo.

Tiningnan ko si Paulo…

“I’ll explain later,” then he winks at me.

I could not believe it’s happening…naramdaman ko na naman tumutulo ang mga luha ko.

“Hey, why are you crying?”

“Ssshh, tears of joy,”sagot ko.
