-Chapter 24-

"Vanessa? Vanessa? Vanessa darling?" Someone said and shook me gently, my mind came back to reality.

I replied the person with a 'hmm' and my eyes slowly flutter open to see my mum sitting at my bed side. Her eyebrows were creased and her hands were holding mine tightly.

"Vanessa. Are you feeling any better?"

"I guess so. Why am I here?" I said, cringing at the pain that shot through my head.

"You stay here and I'll get the doctor." she said and got up.

"Where can I go, mum." I said sarcastically and rolled my eyes at her with annoyance because she didnt answer my question.

She came back and took my hand as she sat down next to me. "What happened?"

"You were crying and yelling." She replied.

A familiar looking doctor knocked on the door and peaked to see if he was interrupting anything. I frowned as he entered with the fake doctor smile plastered on his face.

He looked so familiar but I couldn't place where I have seen him before.

"Vanessa. I am Doctor Martin. How are you feeling? Any aches or dizziness?" he asked.

"I am fine, just tired and maybe a little pain in the head."

"This is the effect of the drug." he replied and jotted some notes on his clipboard.

"What drug? Why am I here?"

The doctor's head snapped towards me. "You dont remember?"

"No. What am I suppose to remember?"

"What is the last thing you remember?" he questioned back.

"Urm..." My mind and memory were all fuzzy and everything was a blur. How did I end up here? Did I get an injurt from sports? Did I fall off the cheer pyramid? This was rather odd.

"Doctor, she cant remember!" my mum shouted.

"No wonder she didnt ask about him. I'll get the neurologist." he said and rushed out.

A nurse came in after that and took my blood pressure and temperature.

"Hey girl, what is your name." she asked.

"Vanessa."

"How old are you?"

"17."

"What sports do you play?"

"I plays loads of sports. I am also a cheer captain."

"What is the last thing you remember?" she asked.

"I could say I had a dream. It isnt really clear but I know I saw my grandmother. She was talking to me. Saying something I cant remember."

"Do you know why you are here?"

"No. Not really." I said feeling really scared. Why cant I remember anything?

"Dr Drake will be with you shortly." she smiled sweetly and left.

My heart started pounding against me chest really fast. I searched my mind to think of what I forgot.

"Hello Vanessa. My name is Dr Drake, so how are you feeling?" he asked.

"I feel fine. But they say I lost a part of my memory. Why?"

"It is very common for a person who has a hear injury or sedated to lose a part of their memory. Normally, it is because the memory is scary or want to be forgotten. I talked to your mother and got some of your things. I will slowly show you certain things to see if it can trigger a memory. But first, tell me about your dream."
