We are on a block section so I see Yuggy every day. That's his nickname here in class so that's what I call him. He's my seatmate most of the time because he doesn't know our other classmates yet. He stopped schooling last year so his previous classmates are already juniors.
We become closer eventually. We are always partners on activities since we sit beside each other and the professors are lazy assigning us one by one. I like being partners with him anyway. He's just chill and goes on with the flow, complimenting my hands-on personality. He serves as my cheerleader as I try to perfect whatever report we're doing.
But our closeness is limited on the school grounds. Once we get out of the gate and part ways, no one looks back. We are classmates, acquaintances. But to be honest, we don't know anything about each other except for that.
Until one night, I get surprised when Yugyeom chatted me on Facebook. I rarely receive messages because I see my friends everyday or they just text me.
I always entertain people when they chat me because you'll never know if they badly need a shoulder to cry on. Maybe I'm over thinking but I don't want them to feel alone just because I decided to do my nails instead of replying.
Seems like something is up. Break up? Rejection? We haven't talked about our personal lives yet so I wouldn't know how to comfort him. But he must be really bothered if he suddenly chats me up like this.
So he treats me as his friend already, huh. That's new. I know quite a lot in the university because I'm part of an organization and some of my high school friends study here. But I won't call them friends. They don't know about my different sides yet.
That night, Yugyeom and I talk about random stuffs. I tell him how my mother is on another country while my father only goes home once a weak because he has another family. I also tell him that I'm living with my younger brother on my grandmother's house. It's not as if I'm keeping my complicated family life as a secret but I also don't broadcast it. I just thought opening up to him could make him be comfortable to me too. He is all ears. He asks me about whatever he can't understand and I gladly explain.
In return, he tells me that he has an older sister and that his mother works out of the country most of the time too.
He asks for my number before our chat ends.
