Chapter 19

I don't how long in the shower, but it’s all quite when i turn off the shower. Maybe he fell asleep. I wrap a soft white towel around my body and comb through my wet hair, when that is done I french braid it. When i walk out i expect Shane to be on the bed sleeping, but all the lights are on and there is a folded piece of paper on the right pillow. I walk over to my suitcase to get dress. I pull on the Shane’s daughtry band t-shirt and my long zebra print pajama pants. I grab the note and sit crisscross on the bed. I look down at the the note and giggle on how perfect it is folded. I open it carefully and smile at Shane’s handwriting.

    Hey Beautiful,

    You have been in the shower for a half in hour and i just know you were crying. It was pretty loud actually. I sat by the door waiting for you to come out. I’m sorry if what I said upset you. I didn't mean to say it that way. Yes Layla Margaret Alexandria, I like like you. But I can’t be in love with you. We can never be together. I don't mean to hurt you when i say that, but we cant be together because you are the Princess and i’m just a grad. I promised your Father that  I will keep you safe.  I  will continue to show you how to feel love so you can impress Prince Zander,but i want you to know it is killing me everytime we kiss. I dont just like like you Layla… I love  you. I have been in love with you since that day in the garden. It’s okay Layla if you dont feel the same. I will be just as happy being your best friend. I’m going give you sometime to yourself. I need to clear my head so I went for a walk. I will be back soon i promise.

I put the note on the end table and curl up and pull Shane’s shirt up to my nose and inhale deeply. It still smells like him. I close my and cry myself to sleep. I get woken when I hear the door close. “Shane?” “Sorry Baby, I didnt mean to wake you, go back to sleep.” Ignore him and turn on the light beside the bed. “Shane come here.” He looks at with a frown but obeys. He kneels down on the side of the bed next to me. I grab his hand and bring it up to my lips and kiss his knuckles. He looks up at with shock in his. “I saw your letter.” He smiles. “I see that.” “Shane we need to talk.” “Not to night Love i’m really tired.” He gets up from the floor and i pull his arm making him fall on the bed. His lips are inches away from mine. DANG! I totally want to kiss him right now, and i’m going to right after this…. i take a deep breath.

“Shane Oliver Smith i love you too and i dont give a crap what the rules are. You are my one and only. I want to be with and only you. I will handle my father, i just want to love you and be with you. I want you…. Please Shane be my real boyfriend...Please...Please.” I look into his eyes waiting for him to answer. He smiles but doesn't say anything. Right when i was about say his name he mashes his lips to mine. My heart melts. He pulls away finally leaving us both breathless. “Yes Beautiful i will be your boyfriend. But what are we going to do, i mean how are we going to hide your love from everyone?”  I shurg and pull him closer to me wrapping my arms around his neck. I hug him close.

“I love you Shane!” I whisper in ear. He smiles against my neck. “Say it again.” I shake my head. “Please Baby?” “No!” “If you say it again i will give a gift i was waiting to give you on your birthday.” “OOO okay!” “I.” Kiss.  “Love.” Kiss. “You.” Kiss. “Shane.” Kiss. He smiles. Then gets off the bed and goes over to his suitcase. He pulls out a small box. He comes back to the bed and sits on the edge handing me the small box.  

“Before you open it can i say a few things?” i nod and stare at him. He looks nervous… “Layla in this box is something that will mean a lot then just a ring. When I saw it and got it i didn't imagine i will be giving it to you as my girlfriend but it just makes it more powerful this way. I know we just told each other that we love but I want you to know that when i say it comes straight from my heart and they are not just words to me. So Layla Margaret Alexandria will you promise to wear this ring knowing that you have my heart forever and always?” I nod and wipe the tears away. “Your So cute and i swear you get sweeter and sweeter by the minute.” He opens the box and my eyes get big and my jaw drops. The ring shining back at me is stunning.

It has a diamond in the middle and on the sides it's an infinity signs. “Shane it’s so gorgeous. Thank you!” “Your more then welcome Baby. Here i got a chain for you so you can wear it around your neck. ” I can’t stop smiling and looking at the ring. Shane takes out the ring and slides it on the chain. “Stand up and turn around.” I do as he says. He moves my hair and puts the necklace around my neck and hooks it. He kisses my neck.  I smile when he warps his arms around me from behind. He starts to hum kiss me slowly by parachute. We cuddle each other and fall asleep in each other's arms.
