Chapter 25

I got escorted to dinner a little bit earlier. I tried to get it out of  Melissa what is going on why am i am i going to dinner early all i want to do is daydream about my trip and Shane’s lips on mine.  But she wouldn’t tell me anything. When we got into the dining room my jaw dropped to the floor. The table was covered with all my favorite foods and a huge red velvet cake covered in cream cheese. There was a happy birthday sign hanging from one corner to the next.  “Happy Birthday Angel!” My dad says killing the silence in the room. I then looked at the people in the room. There was my Parents, Melissa, Finn,Carmon,and last but definitely not least Shane.

I smiled when I made eye contact with Shane. “Wait are we all going to eat in the same room?” I look over at my parents there is a big smile on my Mother’s face and my dad is nodding his head. I run over to him and hug him. “Thank you Daddy!   “Your welcome Angel.” I hug Mom next. “I can't believe you are already 18 it is so incredible. It feels like just yesterday that you and Kenna were born. Oh speaking of Kenna she sends her love.” I smile at her. Kenna is Melissa daughter she and i are practically twins because we were born on the same day Kenna is just an hour older than me.

“Hey Layla!” “AH!” I screech and turn around to the very familiar voice. Standing right by the door is Kenna. I run up to her and give her a great big hug. “Omg when did you get here?” “I got here yesterday morning.” “Omg i cant believe your here, are you staying please tell me you aren't going to leave me again.” She laughs and shakes her head. I smile and pull her to the table. “Please dig in, Thank you everyone for celebrating my birthday.” I turn to Kenna. “Also i’m so glad i get to share my birthday with my best friend. I’m so glad you are here it is the best birthday present ever.” She smiles and takes a seat next her mom and Finn. Leaving the seat next to Shane open which i totally don't mind.

I walk over to the side of the table where he is sitting and he pulls out my chair for me. i sit and pushes me up. He then sits himself. He leans over to whisper in my ear. “Happy Birthday, i will come by later so we can talk.” I try so hard not shiver. I grin then nod my head. “Thank you and can't wait.” I whisper back. We get severed and Dad stands up and everyone in the room looks at

him. “I will be giving grace tonight. I would like to start out with thanking for God for this 18 years ago. I can't believe my little Angel is 18 already.

I remember finding out you were in your mother’s stomach, you are our miracle baby. You came in our lives right as we were about give up. You did your mother a hard time though because she just thought that you were a horrible flu that would not go away. The night i couldn't take it anymore i called Doctor Lee and he came and told us she is not sick she is pregnant. Then nine months later we got our beautiful baby girl that isn't and baby anymore. So you will be married and have kids of your own and then you will understand how your mother and feel. Also i am very glad that Miss Kenna is back home and safe where she belongs and happy birthday to you dear.”

He sits down and i watch everyone dig in. I’m just stare down at my plate of favorites. My mind is still trying to process what he said about i will be married soon. Shane must of felt my tention because he brush his hand against mine then he was holding my hand and rubbing his thumb back and forth. trying to calm me. I let out a sigh of relief.  I have become very comfortable with his touch. Now if i could just get his lips on me again. He squeezes my hand, which makes me look at him. He smiles and whispers later. I smile back at him.

Wow i am so stuffed. I’m i my room now sitting on bed looking through pictures on my phone from the trip. i got really good pictures of the beach. Out of a sudden i hear voice i was not expecting until morning. I walked over to my balcony doors and out in the garden is Zander and Kenna. Kenna is yelling at him and throwing her arms in the air. Zander is walking closer to her and wraps his arms around her. She doesn't push him away like i expected her to. They then start making out. What the heck how does Kenna even know him if she was living in Parker for five and half years? I jump when arms go around me then calm down when i feel his lips on my neck.

“Hey baby i miss you!” I laugh. “Hey yourself Handsome,you saw me at dinner which was an hour ago.” “That was not what i meant i wanted to kiss you when walked in the room, and i wanted to kiss you when you were all freaked out by what your father said.” “Shane,  you know we ca-” He cuts me off by pushing me against the wall and kissing me. “Yes we can and just so you know Baby, I will be the one you say i do to not that idiot who is making out with Kenna.” I push him away. “Wait you know, about Zander and Kenna?” He nods his head and moves closer to me and picks me up and carries me to my bed. He pulls back the covers lays down next to me  and pulls me closer to him and starts playing with my hair i lay my head on his chest. “You know Babe this conversation is not over.” “Yup, now Shhh Baby close your eyes and try to sleep you had a long day. I love you” “Love you too Shane Oliver Smith!”
