To the Moon and Back

Terrified

I went downstairs I locked the door before I left the room so the boys wouldn't run in and wake Kells. I grabbed a water and went into the family room and turned the TV on. I flipped through the stations and couldn't find a damn thing, the boys should be getting up soon since it's only 830.

"Luke?" I heard Kells mom say. I turned.
"Good morning Mrs. Lee" I said.
"When will you call me mom?" She asked.
"Whenever your daughter has my last name" I said and she laughed.

I was so nervous she heard us... 

"So how long have you been awake?" I asked as she sat down.
"Long enough." She said avoiding eye contact. I get
My face get real red. 

"Daddddyyyy?!?!" I heard coming down the steps. I jumped up.
"Hey Bo Bo what's up?. "
"I'm tired but all I can hear is mommy throwing up.... I couldn't get into her room."

Her mom heard. I pushed past Bo and ran up. I grabbed the key above the door frame and unlocked it. I ran into the bathroom. She was leaning against the tub.

"Kelly...Kelly...Kelly!" I said she looked at me so confused.
"I....I... I can't see right." She said.
"KEVIIINNNNN!" I yelled for her dad. I yelled it again. Before I knew it he was in there. He pushed me out of the way.

"Kelly, look at me." He said. Her eyes were so glazed over.
"What's wrong?" He asked her.
"I can't see right."
"Luke go call am ambulance now." He said.

"Daddy I just wanna go back to sleep..." she said.
"No way, come on" he said standing her up.

"Yes sir that is right....No sir, her father is here he's a neuro surgeon, yes sir." I said.

"Luke I need you to st least get some clothes on her. Her dad said sitting her on the stool by her makeup stand. He took my phone. Her dad went into the hall. I grabbed some of her underwear and my sweats and shirt he got her dressed. I saw Tate at the door.

"Daddy.... mama...." rhe said crying. Luke turned quickly.
"Lindaaaaa!!!" I yelled. She had Bo in one arm she grabbed Tate.

She said something but I missed it. Kelly slumped over and started seizing. I laid her on the floor on her side. Her dad came running in. Before I knew it paramedics were all around.

"I need the pads!" They yelled As they ripped her shirt open.
"Clear!!!" The other one yelled.. they started doing compressions. Her dad got me out of the room...
20 mins later.... the one came out....

"Sir I'm so sorry...." he said.

I jumped up to my alarm going off. I was a lather of sweat. Kelly wasn't there. I threw on sweats and ran downstairs.

"Tateeee!" I heard Bo say.

I heard her laugh. I ran to the family room. Her, her parents and the boys were playing a game.

"Babe are you okay?" She asked.
"Luke you look sick" he dad said then.

She stood up. She walked over slowly. I grabbed her in my embrace.

"You're here you're alive?" I said.
"Uhhh...yeah?" She said confused. Her parents were looking at me.

"I had the worse dream. You were throwing up and then seizing and the paramedics came and they couldn't save you... you died right in the middle of our bedroom it was so real I thought I lost you." I said. She gave me a big hug. I felt tears going down my face. She looked up at me.

"Luke, it'll take a lot more than that to get rid of me." She said. I kissed her passionately. I didn't want to let her go

That night her parents took the boys to see a movie. It was just us laying on the couch watching a movie. She started making out with me. I stopped her.

"Kelly I don't want your parents walking in" I told her.
"Soooo let's go upstairs, I've rested most of the day I'm ready Luke." She said as she was playing with my hair.
"Kells...." I said.
"I wasn't good enough this morning...." she said. I saw the tears in her eyes. 
"No no that's not it." I said sitting up since she stood up.
"Just...just don't..." she said. She started to run away but I caught up since she slowed down.  I grabbed her arm.

"Kelly..." I said making her look at me.
"Luke stop... I'm just going to bed..."
"Can I come up...?"
"Only because I'm not going to bed mad, but I'm hurt... really hurt..."
"Kelly.... I don't want my dream to come true..."
"Luke you are to worried!!!"
"Kelly I'm not"
"You are... you know what I'll sleep in one of the spare bedrooms..."
"No we are sleeping together. I won't touch you I promise. But I love you kelly I have loved every moment we've spent together not fighting, every time we do something sexual, you please me every time kelly. I love you so much and trust me I want to make love to you I want to fuck you but not tonight please... I'd love for you to let me hold you tonight but if not I understand but I am laying next to you. Remember we said no more fighting, I get we fight but no more going to bed fighting okay."

She had tears rolling down her face.

"I'm sorry lukey." She said. She hasn't called me lukey for awhile.
"I love you kelly don't be sorry."

We headed up to bed.  We got ready and laid down.  I held her close.

"I love you darling goodnight"
"Goodnight I love you too" she said kissing me. I held her tight as we both drifted off to sleep.
