Chapter 4...... Big City, No Worries
It took a long time to get to the new place. It was cities away, it was made sure that no one new who we were and why we are here, we were just new people. The news about the trial never left the the two little towns which was good for me. Though it could've been worldwide and it should've been. But I was happy that they kept it within a few cities. It makes me feel better
It was about night time now and Aurora was up most of the day so now she was sleep. Dave held my hand and he smiled, we just entered the big city and my eyes lit up. I looked all around me in awe. Dave kind of laughed a bit at my open eyes, it was like I never been in a city before, well a big city
"Cool isn't it?" Dave said
"It's a change." I said
After a while of going through the city we finally came to a nice looking, also rich looking area. There were about 30 houses on the street, well from what I can see, I was not going to count. They were spaced out and we went all the way down the street to the last house and again it was big like the other one. We pulled into the house and again there was a gate, it opened and the truck pulled in then us. It was about 8 pm and we stared to move things into the house, we made sure that there was some kind of bed for us and one for Aurora
All the boxes were moved into the house and we started to unpack a few boxes that we really needed. Some food, dishes, baby food, clothes and a few other things. This house looked amazing, you would walk in the front door and there was a little area to put shoes and whatever else, to the right a big living room with a door way to the kitchen, but you look up and there is a double set of stairs on each side, one was just after the living room entrance. On the same floor was a bathroom, a dining room, a huge backyard. Upstairs there were the same amount of rooms as the other house and two bathrooms. It was jaw dropping
The house started to get dark as we turned on the lights. We ordered pizza from a local pizza place because we didn't know where anything is right now, but we found the number in the phone book that was here. I was thankful that the last homeowners left this for us
After we ordered the pizza we started packing the cupboards as we waited for our food to come. Aurora played in her bouncer and it made us laugh a bit, once we were done we set up our mattress in the living room and Aurora's crib. We set up the DVD player and our TV, just until we get cable
'Ding Dong' went the doorbell. I got up and walked over to the door. I had my debit card with me, I opened the door and seen a guy about my age, I am now 27. He looked at me oddly because I was new, to this area and this house. His eyes widened as he again looked at me, he looked me up and down, then smiled. He was about 5'8, he had black hair that was short but it was like an emo style. Don't mean to stereotype here. He was average weight and had brown eyes. He was attractive but he didn't have any of my interest
"Hi there."
He sounded cool and collected. I felt like I was in high school again because I'm sure he was hitting on me
"Hi, can I have my pizzas please?" I asked
He handed me my pizzas and pop and I held them. I placed them on the little table we had set up at the door. It was 9 and it was getting dark but the pouch light was lit and so was the walk way. I flashed my debit card and he pulled out a little portable machine. I inserted my card and started to enter my pin when he asked
"New around here?"
"Yes just moved today." I said
"You want me to show you around?" He asked as he winked
I chuckled a little. I'm surprised I haven't heard Aurora cry yet, I guess she was occupied
"No." I said
