Chapter 16... She's Going To Flip

It took close to 5 hours to get there and that was a long time. It was now turning into the night as we reached the little town, it was very small really. The population was only 1,000 people, that's half the size of the school I went to! I looked around the streets of the small town. It was like 1/8 of my city or even 1/16. The streets were lit with dim lights as the sun started to disappear. I had already called my auntie and she told me to go past the town

So we did and soon after we find ourselves outside of the little town. We were able to find my aunties place. We pulled into a huge driveway with a huge house, it was house 15 down a small street. I looked at it and it looked amazing. John and I got out if the car and headed to the door, I knocked on it. It only took a few seconds for the door to open and I was greeted by my auntie Mel

"Welcome Aurora, and John."

She looked over at John and shook his hand with a smile

"Come on in." She said

We followed her into the big house, I looked around to see that the house wasn't furnished like my house was. There was little furniture in the house to make it stand out. On the wall you could see where pictures use to hang, I took off my shoes when auntie Mel shut the door, she started to walk away. This house isn't too big so I'm not going to get lost. Once we had our shoes off we walked down the hall, I looked at the wall that seemed so familiar. As we past the wall I placed my hand on it and dragged it across. I closed my eyes and a vision appeared in my head, it was the picture I found a few years ago with my mom and dad. I stopped and paused, I opened my eyes to look at the wall

"Why did you stop?" John asked in a whisper

"I found a picture a few years ago of my mom and dad, it was taken here."

"How do you know?"

"It's the same wall." I said

I continued walking to the kitchen where my auntie Mel was standing. She was holding a kettle

"Tea, coffee?" She asked

"Tea please." I said

"Coffee." John said

"Okay, take a seat."

John and I sat down at the kitchen table we were sitting across from each other. Again this room seemed empty, it's like she wasn't here for very long. She brought over a tray with three cups, a small teapot filled with hot water, teaspoons, and things for tea and coffee. She sat down in between us placing the tray in front of all of us.

She pored water into the three cups and each gave us one, my cup had a tea bag in it while John's had just hot water. She gave John coffee stuff, so he made his coffee and I just took my tea bag out and pored milk into my tea. I stirred my tea and took a sip of it. John took a sip of coffee and the table was silent. My auntie Mel placed down her cup and cleared her throat

"You shouldn't be here."

"I know."

"Then why are you?" She asked

"I wanted to see where I could've grown up."

"What do you mean?" She asked

"I mean I know."

"You know?" She asked

"Yes." I said as I sighed

"I'm not sure what to tell.."

"Did mom and dad live here?" I said as I cut her off

"Yes." She said

"Why do you ask?" She added
