Chapter 6.... Aurora's First Day Of School

•4 years after the wedding•

My alarm went off at 7 am. I turned it off and I slowly woke up. I nudged Dave and he groaned and rolled over away from me. I nudged him again and he groaned

"Dave get up." I said

"Five more."

"Five more nothing, get up." I said

He groaned yet again but I just sighed and placed my house coat and slippers on. I got out of bed and I yawned. Dave soon got up and he yawned too, he stretched and started to head to the bathroom where he would take a shower. I left the room knowing Aurora would be up soon too. I slowly made my way down the stairs and into the kitchen. I decided to make eggs and bacon for everyone while Dave was in the shower and Aurora was still sleeping

Soon after I started to cook I heard little dragging foot steps come down the stairs I knew that it was Aurora, she shouldn't be up this early. I heard the foot steps get closer to the kitchen and once I heard them stop I turned around

There stood little Aurora in her long night gown, she was holding her teddy bear in her hand, her long blonde curly hair bounced as she moved. She stopped and stood there for a second then she walked over to the table pulled a chair out and slowly struggled to get up to it but she did it. She didn't say one word until I started talking to her 

"What are you doing up so early?" I asked her

"I'm excited." She said

Today is Aurora's first day of kindergarten. She was so nervous last night that she didn't want to go, she was scared and I know she still is, and I have to take her to school today before I head to work. I cooked the food while Dave finished getting ready. He soon came down, I placed their food on the table and I left quickly to get dress and ready. Dave sat there with Aurora and he kissed her forehead. But before I went upstairs I kissed Dave and Aurora on the forehead

I looked through my closet and I picked out a pencil skirt and a nice top with a coat. I picked out good heels and I got dressed, I rushed around to get ready before Dave left so I could give him his lunch and make Aurora's lunch. As I was about to leave when I stumbled on a box, Why was it there? It had no markings so I opened it, and I gasped. Some pictures and articles came flying out. There were articles about what happened to me and some of the pictures of the condition my body was in when I was found

I struggled to pick everything up and I pushed the box to the back of the closet, Aurora must never ever find these, ever. I went back down stairs to hear Dave and Aurora laughing, I smiled. I took a deep breath in. I walked back into the kitchen and Dave was hugging her goodbye. She smiled and Dave kissed her on the cheek. I grabbed his lunch and he came over to me, he took his lunch and kissed me. Aurora made a blah sound

"Aurora you know your manners." I said

"Yes mama." She said

Dave smiled, she sure does take after Dave. I gave Dave a hug and he went over to Aurora one last time to give her a hug

"Be good and have a wonderful day."

"Thanks dad." She said

Dave left with a wave and he shut the door. Aurora finished eating her breakfast and she hopped up and down

"Mama, mama, can you help me pick what to wear?"

"Yes." I said as I smiled

She was so energetic and bouncy, she was also very developed emotionally and verbally for a 5 year old. She ran up the stairs and into her room and I followed. Her running is my fast walking so I was able to keep up to her. I got into her room and she had already picked some clothes out, she looked over all the outfits and she just looked over them again
