Not so little anymore

"I love you."

I believe this is the chapter that everyone has been waiting on. Or maybe it isn't 😉

Maya didn't say anything and neither did Josh. They both just stood there staring at each other. Maya swallowed hard as she knew somehow that this was going to be an awful conversation.

"Hi." She said making Josh narrow his eyes at her. He scoffed.

"Hi." He said back. Maya shifted her weight on her other foot as she looked at the ground.

"I assume you've heard." Maya stated making Josh nod his head and scoff.

"We need to talk." He said as he brushed past her and into her room. Maya sighed as she closed the door and turned towards him.

"Simon is going to be here at six, Josh you probably need to leave." Maya said making Josh shake his head.

"Why are you with him, Maya." Josh asked in more of a desperate tone then she had ever heard from Josh.

"Because I really like him." Maya said as she wrapped her  arms around herself in a protective way.

"No you don't." Josh stated making Maya glare at him.

"You don't know Josh. You're not me!" She snapped. Usually Josh would back down but he had way to much to loose to not get what he was about to say out in time.

"I know you Maya! You forget that sometimes!" Josh snapped making Maya scoff.

"Whatever Josh. I don't have time for this right now I have a bunch of school work to do and then I need to get ready for my date tonight with my boyfriend." Maya said as she tried to brush past him but he caught her before she could get very far.

"Maya listen to me for once. I'm trying to tell you something and you're completely blowing me off." Josh stated. Maya snatched her hand out of Josh's grip.

"Maybe because I don't care what you have to say. I really like Simon and he really likes me. We're happy Josh." Maya said as she once again wrapped  her arms around herself. Josh shook his head.

"I know more about you then you think Maya. I know that the only reason that you're dating Simon is to get over me, I know that you still love me and that your pretending that I don't because you don't want to get hurt anymore." Josh started as Maya started to shake her head.

"Stop." She said as she backed away from him. But Josh continued.

"I know that I've hurt you Maya and I hate myself for it. When I was with Adrianna I honesty thought that we were the ones for each other." Josh said as he sat down on Maya's bed and continued to talk while Maya was pacing the floors.

"Please stop." She begged.

"But then I saw you with Simon at the restaurant and I got jealous." He said as he stared at the ground. He needed to get this out one way or another.

"Josh please." Maya said as she started to shake her head.

"That was when I realized that you're the one I love." Josh finished in a whisper making Maya raise her head up in pure shock. "It's always been you, Maya." Josh raised his head to Maya to see her eyes glossed over with tears.

"Have you told Adrianna?" Maya asked as she swallowed hard. Josh looked back down at the ground making Maya scoff. "Right." She said as she shook her head.

"I'm going to." Josh stated making Maya laugh.

"Sure you are. That is if I told you that I loved you too and that I would break up with Simon." Maya said bitterly making Josh shake his head.

"Actually Maya I didn't think you would say that. I almost broke up with her the other day." Maya scoffed again.

"Almost broke up with her. Josh don't you get it!? You keep telling me that you still like me and all of this but you refuse to break up with Adrianna! If you love someone then you shouldn't be dating someone else, regardless of the situation!" Now it was Josh's turn to scoff.

"Sounds like you should take your own advise." Maya swallowed hard and turned away from him.

"I don't know what you're talking about." Josh sighed as he got up off of her bed and grabbed her forearm. This time Maya didn't do anything to stop him. He turned her around so she was facing him.

"I'm sorry that I have been a jerk and I'm sorry that it took me till now to realize that I still love you." Maya didn't say anything. She just looked up at him while tears stared to slip down her face.

"You can't tell me stuff like that, Josh. It messes with my head when you say them and then I see you with Adrianna." Maya admits making Josh's own eyes get glossy.

"That was never my intentions. I love you and I want to be with you. And I know that you know you want to be with too." Maya started to shake her head as she reminded herself of Adrianna and the fact that Josh has still yet to break up with her.

"I'm with Simon now and I do-!" Josh grabbed Maya by her face and pulled her into a kiss.

Stop! You have a boyfriend push him away!

Maya's head kept screaming to herself. But instead of listening she threw her arms around Josh's neck as his arms went down to her waist and she deepened it.
